Now I like Spider-Man 2 but I think it is overrated.

The film has superb action, score, story telling, villain etc but Peter is the exact same character as he was in SM1. I wasn't fan of Dunst in this. Ok, so she loves Peter more and all that but why does she meddle with poor JJ Jr? Leaving him at the alter in front of friends and family? Selfish biatch.

She was less ****e-y in SM2 than in SM1 lol

She got with Harry, Peter, Spider-Man, Flash.

In SM2 it was technically just Peter and JJ Jr but she pretended he was Spider-Man during a scene when her true love was Peter? I get MJ is a popular gal in the comics but she wasn't that ****e-y

I can't believe it's 10 years ago already this year since SM2 came out, still a wonderful film. Back then was when I started frequenting these boards as a lurker in anticipation for it. I remember when that pic of Harry holding the Goblin mask spilled out and I was like :wow:. I had visited the news page and such since 2002 but that was when I started diving deeper, ha.

Saw the movie the morning it opened with my dad and we both enjoyed it a ton. It was a Wednesday and the comic store was right next to the theatre, so I ended up getting the comic adaptation of the film right after since that came out the same day.

The 10th anniversary is 2 months and 16 days from now

Spider-Man 3 was just on Channel 5 here in the UK...

I don't care what anyone says. I really, really like this movie. Nostalgia was kicking in big time while watching it.

I was 17 when it came out and I remember it was a half day at school (May 4th). All my friends went to the park after and the sun was shining. I was going through my first real romance at the time. I don't know, rose tinited glasses and all that... but I'll always associate Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy with my teens. Therefore all three films will always have a special place in my heart. :hrt:

It's not perfect, but there is alot to like about it.

That's cool! Since we're speaking of SM3... Really cool Venom costume test shot that Marvel Spider found. Very creepy. The eyes and the smaller mouth reminds me of McFarlane Venom.

Spider-Man 3 really isn't anywhere near as bad as it's made out to be. Yeah, where it makes a misstep...it makes a serious misstep. But then it finds its footing. Also, you really care about the characters and where their journey is heading. Also, the film has some of the best scenes in the trilogy, and score of all 5 Spider-Man films to boot. It's still a hell of a good film, it just isn't quite the high SM1/SM2 is.

I've found little to like about it. I was only 12 at the time but I can remember being disappointed. While it got worse as I got older I never, ever did like the film. That's really saying something as Spider-Man 2 was my favourite film... EVER. The trailers for it were really fantastic too.

Venom was my favourite villain ever at the time too. The shock on my face when he had to share 25 minuites of screen time with 3 other characters lol.

I thought they did create with Venom's look. I also prefered the film Black Suit over the comics.

I just saw this! I still view my ranking of the trilogy as spider-man 2, spider-man 3, spider-man 1, but 3 could have been the best of the trilogy if given a good polishing with the script.

Venom IMO was done better than ever before. Raimi gave him a motivation this time, instead of that piss poor reason to hate Spidey in the comics.

i agree! I felt Venom would've been perfect if they had just inserted all of the events from "The Black" tie-in

Wow! Thank you! I love seeing stuff like this. I just adore the Venom suit in this movie.

Yea I did like how he had a more direct reason.

I wish they included the cancer and his wife.

In SM3, none of that was present for Brock. He was alive & healthy, and obviously single.

He believed Gwen to be his girlfriend, and was obsessed with the idea
Good substitute for the wife story

Came from Ultimates too, where EBJ was creeping on Gwen. I wish there was a line in the movie from USM

It was something like "I know people. It's almost a sixth sense I have about them, and Eddie Brock Jr. is a bad person."

I forgot he tried to hit on her there
Made her cry

Exactly. It's not often a comic book movie improves on a character from the comics, but SM-3 did it with Venom. Not that it's hard to improve on Venom.

Spider-Man 3 is easily my least favorite of Sam Raimi's trilogy, but it's not a bad film at all.

Like having one of the most fun to watch final fights
