JRM always came to my mind when I thought of an actor for Lex. His age IMO, would make an interesting element if were cast. Saying how Lex has just started out with Lexcorp, and his youth is one of the factors for him being big-headed
Creatively, I've always liked Lex being young to start of with. To show him age and his own idea of perfection to slowly leave him, whilst his rival remains the same. Cause Lex nearly always tried to keep himself as perfect looking as Superman.
As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if if the movie changed his history a bit in this movie. Saying as how there is no Lexcorp or anything, I'm betting by the end of Man Of Steel, Lex manages to take control of a company that he's working for, and turns into his own.
