The Official Lois Lane Casting & Discussion Thread - Part 4

gosh, i am so annoyed with hearing. "she is too hot for lois... she is too sexy... she is too stunning"

that is the probably stupidest argument ive ever heard and its is ridiculous that so many people are using it. come up with a legitimate reason. jeezus

gosh, i am so annoyed with people on this board not being able to disagree with someone without resorting to personal attacks.

If you've ever worked in a traditional newspaper newsroom, you'd know. A journalist who looks like Olivia Wilde would not be working at a newspaper, she'd be on TV (less work, more money).

Yeah, it's a movie, so all women are supposed to be hot, but there's a limit to what's credible. Erica Durance, for example, is supposedly attractive, but not on Olivia's level, and you could more reasonably picture someone like Erica working at the Planet.

Unless she wants to work at a newspaper rather than on TV.

i can understand the arguments for Lois being "too hot"...because most women who are gorgeous end up becoming models or actresses. Pink Ranger's right, it's weird seeing a smoking hot person in an office environment. unless they're the receptionist, they tend to look out of place.

however, we've already had 2 movie Lois's that are less than stellar looking...and the only physically attractive Lois's have been on TV. i'm ready to see a Lois on the big screen who's visually pleasing...as long as she acts like Lois also.

That's ********. People are going to go into any profession they want, regardless of how hot they are.

and also, i don't see anyone complaining about diane lane being cast. If anyone is too hot for their role its her, when i think of attractive comic characters, martha kent is very very very very very low on the list. and here i'll use some PinkRanger logic...

if you have ever lived in the real word you would know that the odds of a stunningly attractive woman coming across an alien baby with super powers is very unlikely. she would have been too busy being on tv

Dude take her out of all that make up and lip gloss and die her hair dark and she's normal... And honestly to me she's just ok. No where near too hot. I have never seen to hot in Hollywood... only bad acting or bad direction or a bad script or even bad wardrobe.

I don't think she is pretty at all.

That better be sarcasm, Dorky.
i assume you're talking about the first part of my post? regardless, no it wasn't sarcasm. i've worked in offices before, and while i've had several co-workers who were very attractive/borderline gorgeous, the only co-workers i had that were smoking hot were the receptionists and they were college students who only stayed for a year at the most. it would be very jarring to see a woman with looks the likes of Odette Yustman or Amber Heard working where i have....and my last job was pretty biased towards hot women.

but again...our last 2 movie Lois's have been pretty plain in the physical department, so i'd be stoked if we finally get a hot Lois Lane.

who did i even attack in the statement you quoted? it said i was annoyed with hearing that arguement. it said nothing toward anyone. way to react over nothing brother

But what if these 'smoking hot' women don't want to be models or actresses? People will do what they want to do, no matter what they look like.

God, have some of you not seen House? Olivia looks attractive but not that 'hot model' look.

People are basing their opinion on her glammed up red carpet pictures. She will be in a business suit for most of the time. When she DOES make an effort you see how hot she is.

Anyway, one of the things that makes Lois such a good catch is because she is attractive but she is one of the most respected reporters at the DP.

Plus Wilde doesn't look distractingly beautiful on House. She's really pretty but you take her chracter seriously so you can look past that.

Funny how the few posters saying Olivia Wilde is "too hot" for Lois Lane and want a less attractive Lois are women..

Olivia does a convincing doctor of all professions on house yet is too pretty for a journalist lol

Olivia on house and she does not look too hot on house

All of the too hot/beautiful/sexy arguments just make me laugh.

It's Hollywood, folks. If you want to see everyday, average-looking people, go outside.

For goodness sakes, look at what a test pilot/future owner of a airforce base in GL looks like:

If I just watched the GL trailer alone, I would think lively is a horrible actress, but after seeing 'the town' and a couple episodes of gossip girl, she really isn't too bad. Maybe she'll look better in the second trailer.

Yes thankyou Project862006 Olivia looks attractive in the pics, but not so much where you think.

'Oh God, what's SHE doing there? She looks so out of place! She should be on the catwalk.'

Just a pretty girl in the workplace.

i realize that not all hot people end up becoming models or actresses. i know plenty of hot chicks that went nowhere in life...

...however, if a woman is driven and has attractive features they often tend to go towards the image driven careers. THERE ARE ALWAYS EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE...but most of the time, that's what happens. finding a smoking hot woman in an office that's not a receptionist is like finding a needle in a haystack.

that being said, i still hope Olivia Wilde gets the role. as various pictures have suggested, she can look attractive as a professional without looking like a model...unlike the likes of Odette Yustmen or Amber Heard, who ALWAYS look friggin' hot no matter what role they're playing.

edit: let's not fool ourselves here though....this is Zack Snyder we're talking about. the only time he had an average looking leading female was in Dawn of the Dead and his Martha Kent is undeniably gorgeous. he's probably gonna gun for the hottest actress he can get, and he'll probably glam them up for the camera.

:wow: Blake and Olivia have got to be in a movie together. Preferably something like 'Bound' or 'Black Swan'. :cwink:

Seriously, not 1 person has said that she's 'too hot' to be Carol.

I must have hit the jackpot where I work, because practically every woman there is hot.
