My gut is we get Wilde on this, though I also think a left-field choice like Brie is very possible.

That's what my gut is telling me too. Dorky has pointed this out a couple of times already. When the Lara Croft rumours surfaced her people denied it immediately, but they've never said anything about Lois. That leads me to believe that there's something to it. That or just wishful thinking on my part. :yay:

I think that Abbie Cornish may be a possibility (Snyder connection). Kate Mara was up for TDKR, so who knows? At this point anything is possible.

This is for you, Spidey........

I want to go Wilde on Olivia. :woot:

THE LANA STALKER FROM SMALLVILLE

That's quite the connection you made there, DIRECTOR. I think I remember her... Then again, I never got past a few episodes of that dreadful show...

I just remember her as the constantly naked girl from True Blood in the few episodes I saw.

She wouldn't be on my list for Lois.

THE LANA STALKER FROM SMALLVILLE

Not advocating for Lizzy here (she's okay but not one of my choices for the role) but just because she played a crappy guest star role on a crappy TV show eight years ago doesn't make her a bad actress in the least. Every single actress suggested in this thread has had some lame roles in the past. You don't get handed A-list material overnight.

Smallville >>>>>>>>>>>> SR

but this is neither the time nor is it the place....

Kate Mara's a nice suggestion. I hadn't thought of her, and after the all these years in small supporting roles she seems to be on the verge of a breakout, as she apparently has a several lead roles coming up (Happythankyoumoreplease, Iron Clad, Ten Year, Chronicle). Plus another supporting role in an Olivia Wilde vehicle, haha. She doesn't really have the conventional look like Wilde has, but she does have the attitude, imo.

I like Mara but it's hard for me to picture her as Lois when she just screams Lana to me.

NEWS FLASH, People can dye their hair. Why are fanboys so dense about this little factoid?

I love when actresses are dedicated enough to dye their hair, but many don't want to damage it and will opt for a wig. I raged when I found out blake lively was playing carol ferris with a wig, and kate bosworth was playing lois with a wig.

A wig is another thing, I'm fine with wigs provided they look decent. An up and comer like Mara would dye her hair. Bosworth just didn't want to dye her hair but Lively is playing a blond on GG so it would have been a huge hassle to dye her hair.

Kate Mara could play either Lois or Lana. I just think she'd be better as Lana.

I do wanna see Blackbird. Her and Olivia in the same movie. :hrt: :woot:

The fanboys on here say that about every redhead. It's a dense, silly way of looking for an actress for this role. I'm sorry but it just is.

I like mara but I haven't seen her act enough to make a fair judgment on her talent.

I don't care if she's a redhead or not. She has the cute, girl-next-door quality about her that's perfect for Lana. But I also believe she has the talent to play Lois.

That's why I feel she's better suited for that... though it doesn't sound like Lana is in this.

The female roles seem to be Ma Kent, Ursa and Lois.

Nope. It's crap.

We all have our opinions, but I would be v surprised if you did not agree, that at the very least, Smallville has much more suitable actors and characterisation for the 3 main leads they shared with Superman Returns...

Routh's Clark was a pastiche of Reeve's, even if you don't like it, at least Welling has his own take.

Rosenbaum's Lex is a subtley played villan, even making you like him sometimes in the series, almost seeming like the hero he thinks he is.

Spacey's Lex is very one note, just a guy simmering with rage, and then exploding with rage every now and again.(if anyone replies to this post, please do not use that overused image of Spacey saying 'Wrong!', please just don't do that one thing for me)

and last but absolutely not least...Erica Durance's Lois is the best screen Lois to date...smart, tough, cool, attitude to spare, independant, caring, sweet, gorgeous, can kick-ass, and even makes some spelling mistakes and typos now and again like the real Lois should do! She is not flawless after all! lol
whereas whtjamacallher from SR, Kate Bosworth...is just a pure stiff in the role, ok, her acting technically is fine, but she was not suitable for that role at all, she just did not have the right attitude for the role. She was cast by Singer as a favour to Spacey basically, as he had befriended her when she starred in his Deep Blue Sea movie(which she was actually better in, as she suited the role), you can figure this out from the extras on the dvd, you see Spacey talking to Singer about her wanting to see his reaction, 'yeah, she's sweet' etc etc , and then later on the dvd, singer practically pulling his hair out as deep down he knows she is not right for the role, but he feels trapped by circumstance, basically as there was an undercurrent of Spacey only agreeing to shave his head if his pal could get in the movie.
