If I have an external drive formatted for Windows, can I still backup my Mac in someway (clone the drive for a Leopard install)?

The drive has to be formatted for Mac OS Extended in order to clone your Mac OS install to it. If you wanted to keep your Windows stuff on it but still be able to clone your Mac install to it, the best thing I could suggest would be to partition it out (if it's big enough) to handle your Windows files on one side and then a partition big enough to put your Mac OS backup on the other.

BTW, just wanted to tell you that I ran Boot Camp and it worked fine on my MBP. Windows XP runs fast and best yet, I plugged in a USB HD-DVD Drive and it PLAYED! That's right - PowerDVD + TFORMERS = HD Sweetness....too bad they lost the format war =\

Will Command and Conquer 3 work on my MacBook? Will any of those EA Mac games?

Yeah, that drive is made so you can plug it into any USB port on a computer and it's supposed to work.

Interesting Vista vs. Mac OS X comparison by David Pogue:

And on another note, have you guys seen Microsoft's new ad campaign?

Yeah, I've set up several Mac OS X servers, Malice. They're a dream in comparison with the Windows servers.

I have NEVER seen one...
You hardly ever even hear about them in public either.

I think that Apple is really crippling itself in the lack of server advertising.
They do their advertising for the desktops...but not and advanced servers and the like.

I would love to get my hands on a server and desktop running the latest versions of OS X (Leopard I think) or is it 10.5 now?

Leopard is 10.5. Apple does pimp their Mac OS X Server, Xserve, Xraid and Xsan products pretty well, but I agree they need to step it up a bit. They're doing some key things that make me think they're going to be stepping up their Enterprise offerings and strategy very soon, though.

My Charger died >.<;

I'm still under warranty, does it cover the charger? Can I take my charger and MBP in to the store and get a new one?

At least I *hope* it's my charger and not my MacBook O.O

Yeah, if you have a warranty for your laptop, it covers the charger. Mine died as well shortly after I got my laptop. I'm pretty sure they'll have them in stock if you take it in, but you might have to wait (mine took 3 weeks to arrive, but it was around the time when they realized there was an issue with the ones that came with the single core macbook pros).

Shouldn't matter either way. If it's under warranty, your MacBook is covered too.

FYI folks (and if this is common knowledge, I apologize) Unlike those god awful PC's if there is a major malfunction with a Mac and a complete reinstall of the OS is necessary, you shouldn't loose any work and you shouldn't need to reinstall your programs either. I say should because I've only seen this once. I've seen it more than a few times with a PC though and every time, everything that was once on the hardrive is gone forever.

But if you're smart, you back up your sh1t anyway. ;)

Jaguar, how bout you give me your mac...I will pay you...say...shipping plus 10 bucks?
:)

I'll give you shipping plus 15 bucks.

Let the bidding war begin! ;)

Jag, you'd be a fool to not take this offer.

I agree...
You might be converting a Windows Security Admin to a MAC...think of the public support you would get from the world by giving me your MAC for $10 bucks!

You would be a hero in the world of the MAC Addicts!

Hahahaha! Get your own! *clutches Macs* :cmad:
