I dont want no MACbook air. I want a laptop with some weight to it!
A Man-Laptop

You want a MacBook Pro, son. It's the manliest! :up:

I doubt they'll make a big deal about the torrent. Heck, they shouldn't even need to turn the computer on. Just hook the new charger into it. Light on the charger goes green, everything is fine. And if it's completely shutdown, it'll have to reboot anyway.

If they try and take the laptop, just say you have sensitive information on it and you'd rather stay with it. I don't see a reason for them to even touch the laptop (unless there's something wrong it and not the charger).

:up:

I want a MACBOOK Air.

From what I've been reading, they're calling the Air Apple's first misstep in a while. Beyond the cool style, it's underpowered and too expensive.

Of course, if someone wanted to give me a Macbook Air, I would certainly take one. So as not to offend them.

Actually, I've read mostly stellar reviews. They're calling it the business traveler's machine because it's perfect for someone who is on the road alot, does a lot of email, presentations and documents and doesn't need all the power of a machine like the MacBook Pro. I suspect anyone calling it underpowered is the kind of user that wants more out of a machine than the average business user or home internet surfer (and I'm probably the kind of user that would consider it underpowered). It's a different target market for this thing.

^Yeah I know about that. But just imagine the look in people's eyes when they see you pull out a super thin laptop. People will be like "WTF!??!".

So, any1 hear about the 32 gb touch? Too expensive IMO, $500 for a MP3 player

Yeah, the new Touch and iPhones are too expensive. I'll just wait until September for them to discontinue the smaller models and lower the prices.

Wee! Thanks guys ^_^
It's always nice to come in to speak to level headed people after I basically implode with worries. :yay: At least I caught up with 4 months of comic book reading while I have been sans lappie. -_-;

And I totally agree on the Touch and iPhones. :) I'm waiting for the lowering of prices later this year to snag one as well.

Mmmm....on the iPhones, if you take into consideration that no other phone on the market today offers that much internal memory (8 or 16GB), then the price on those units suddenly moves into a different light. In fact, I think the highest capacity of the nearest phones is 4GB and that's using external SD cards. And, you're still paying for cutting edge tech on top of all that memory, which is always at a premium. The iPod Touch seems pricey to me for what it is, but...again, people pay a premium for new, cutting edge technology. Gotta pay for all that R&D, you know.

jag

Either way :) an iPhone is way outside of what I need I am by-in-far -not- the target audience. :yay: But I can appreciate the technology, I just wouldn't pay it.

I looooove my iPod touch, and I really don't need the 32 GB, so for once I'm not pissed off about them upping the memory.

I am always amazed that people pitch such a fit about technology advancing on them after they've bought something. The MOMENT you buy something, especially in the tech space, it is obsolete. Do you want companies to never release anything new or upgrade any of their products just so you can always have the latest and greatest? Ridiculous. We'd all still be using abacus' if that was the standard.

Seriously Jag, it's more like 'as soon as you 'touch' something. >.<;

I know as soon as I bought my MacBook Pro two weeks later they launched the ones with the upped RAM and HDD.

Wait...didn't you have a regular iPod :huh:....Send it to me! O.O

I love my iPod, but I cant afford right now to replace it with an iPod touch which is what I want, because of the applications they are going to build for it.

Yes...yes, that's exactly what I want....and I love my abacus.

Heh, the day after I bought my MacBook, the MacBook Pro's came out. Obviously I canceled my order and ordered the new one.

I'm not frustrated with Apple coming out with upgrades. I'm frustrated with not being able to afford the upgrades. If I could, I'd be buying a new iPod everytime and selling off my old ones.

Here's an interesting article:

"Remember the controversial Mac hacking contest from last year's CanSecWest conference? No? Here's a refresher: Conference organizers challenged attendees to hack into a Macintosh laptop, with the successful hacker winning the computer and a cash prize. Winner Dino Dai Zovi found a QuickTime bug that allowed him to run unauthorized software on the Mac once the computer's browser was directed to a specially crafted Web page. Well, the contest is back again this year, but with a twist, says Dragos Ruiu, the principal organizer of CanSecWest: 'We're thinking of having a contest where we have Vista and OS X and Linux ... and see which one goes first.""

Minds as well ask this now. There any "hack" for the Macbook, that can enable middle-click? I know there's several ways of single/double clicking, so I was wondering if anyone figured out how to map a third mouse button to one of these.

Before anyone asks, I do use it quite frequently during web browsing. It's main function is to open links in new tabs..

I just bought a new black Macbook, and I got a little annoyed with the trackpad and one click button. I just got used to the PC's mouse. I stuck my 5 year old Gateway mouse into the USB port and it automatically behaves the same as it did on my PC, scroll, middle click and all.

I'm actually less pissed than disappointed really. I know the stuff is coming and I accept it, but that doesn't mean I like it.

Wait...didn't you have a regular iPod :huh:....Send it to me! O.O

I use my iPod touch for when I'm on foot, and my video ipod lives in my car, so no, I won't send it to you.

Besides, me sending it to you would require me to have all kinds of information, like your real name, location, etc. and how would I ever know any of that. :cwink:

I was just looking at that video, and I noticed that the small guy standing on the table pouring drinks was the Master part of "Master Blaster" in Mad Max 3.

Mac OS X 10.5.2 Update is available. You can read all about what it fixes and updates at that link. They've added in some actual features rather than just fixes. It's a beast at 343MB. I haven't d/l'd and installed, yet, but have read nothing that would make me hold off, yet. If you're in a production environment, it's always smart to wait a week or so and make sure there are no incompatibilities or major bugs that pop up, though.
