In other Apple News, the iPhone and iPod Touch SDK will be unveiled at the new Apple Event on March 6th.
You need to use a program like Handbrake or Mac The Ripper to pull the video off the DVD into a resulting VIDEO_TS file that you'd then import into iMovie. Use Google to find out how. There's plenty of "how to"'s out there.

Hello again! Nothing to horrible here, just a question as i've already picked Evo's brains apart and searched as much as the interwebs will allow.
About a week ago I noticed that no webpages were loading on Firefox and my AIM wasn't working, be it through Adium, iChat, or on it's own. Throughout this last week I've have patches of everything running smooth on FireFox, and Safari. Other times Nothing on Firefox loads, but everything runs smooth on Safari. or other times when everything loads slow.
I'd think this was a router or Internet issue, but the router is also wirelessly connected to our Dell and it's running absolutely perfectly -stupid Dell-
Few things:
Current OS is Tiger, has all updates.
FireFox has all recent updates.
I admit that I haven't wanted to delete and re-install FireFox because I don't want to lose all my bookmarks. >.<;
Ok, just got a hold of a licensed copy of Speed Download 5.0
I need some help on how I'm supposed to integrate this with my web browsers (specifically both Camino and Safari). I don't really see anything in the preferences menu, but I do see a SpeedDownload contextual menu item within Safari. However, even when I click on a file, Safari is still the one that downloads.
Right now, I'm having to manually click 'Add' within SpeedDownload, then pasting in a url. But, this doesn't help for some share servers that don't allow you to copy the download link. I've heard the program knows how to avert this, but I can't find that either.
Can anyone help?
Wee! Thanks Wieg!
and I have an update:
For AIM I get this notice when it doesn't work:
"The Domain name server lookup for the specified host has failed. The host is unknown."
It appears to either be my ISP, or the DNS -I'm guessing here- because, as I said before, it connects and loads flawlessly to other wireless networks. Except for my house one >.<;
This evening I plugged the ethernet cable direcly into my laptop, cutting out the router and it still did the same things. Slow loads in FireFox, and no AIM service at all.
I can somewhat live without AIM, since I just use Meebo, bulky but it get's the job done. However I miss Firefox, not a fan of Safari.
How can I make it where iTunes plays videos from the very beginning everytime instead of where they were last left off?
I have iTunes on my PC, (I know this if a MAC forum) is there a good way to appropriately back up the iTunes database physically (aside from Burning DVD's) to another hard drive?
I have been playing with this quite a bit thru iTunes
As long as you're backing up your iTunes music and data directories (I don't know what these are called on the Windows side) as part of your normal backup process, they should be backed up just fine.

iTunes handles it a little strangely.
But I think I figured it out, I might type a doc on how to do it to help everyone out.
I have multiple hard drives and a NAS, and the NAS can work as additional storage, but iTunes does not allow you to use the NAS as a primary storage, which is really freaking annoying.
thanks
Can a power outage affect your Macs performance?
On, Sunday around 5pm we had a power outage here in Vegas. It lasted for about 3 minutes. Now, before the power outage I had my Imac on and was listening too my itunes nothing out of the ordinary. But, after the power went out I never bothered to turn my imac on again. I figured it was not a big deal.
I went out then when I came back my startup took 5 minutes! 5 MINUTES It would never take this long. And today, when I left for work I shut it down but it never turned off. I came home and it was still one, but my finder was not there just the desktop. Also, my internet is running way slooooooow......not as fast as kenyans like it use too.
¿Que Pasa?
Okay, so I've got a serious problem here.
I went to click on a random folder on my desktop, and all of a sudden the entire desktop disappeared. I try clicking on the Finder icon, and it won't open. Try to click on the trash, it won't open. Safari, Firefox, iTunes and the rest of my dock work fine, but I can't access anything Finder-related. Spotlight locates files and opens them, but it won't open any kind of folder.
What the hell?

Still having Internet issues. >.<; My ISP has no idea what to do, and they literally have jumped me all over their inner workings for the last few weeks.
The updates are:
Firefox: Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time if it slows up to nothing I can just restart it and it works fine.
AIM: Not working at all either on it's own, through iChat or Adium.
Youtube: I get this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/twylight/Picture5.png
And the last straw >.<;;;
I went to Meebo tonight to get on AIM and I got this:

I'm at my wits end...Firefox has been uninstalled and re-installed. My computer is totally updated....and if it has to do with my internet connection I'm hitting a brick wall -literally-.
