EA The Official Mass Effect Thread - Part 2

The series is dead, Adromeda saw to that. Mass Effect is gone, and it's not coming back.

Ha, I remember when people said the exact same thing about the assassins creed franchise. And Nintendo too actually! Really not that long ago

If BioWare wants to build any good will they'd remake ME1, Remaster 2 and 3, add extra endings to 3 to make every make more sense, and release it as the ultimate edition.

if only they 'd do that and more to it their boss's at Ea would let them and give the m the unlimited budget needed to do so. and more importantly no corner cuts of any kind.

BioWare says more Mass Effect is coming (again)
6 days ago | 5 Comments |
November 7, 2018 BioWare reiterates its intention to make more Mass Effect.

Do you want a new Mass Effect game? You’re not alone, and BioWare knows the demand is there. The reaction to Mass Effect Andromeda was bad enough for many fans to worry that the series is dead, but on this N7 Day the studio wants to reiterate that Mass Effect is alive.Read more

BioWare has published a slightly corny but mostly endearing video in celebration of Mass Effect which asks “what is N7?” While you might be tempted to answer that with a codex entry, general manager Casey Hudson says “it means coming into the studio every day dreaming about what the next great Mass Effect game will be.”

Producer Mike Gamble offers a similar sentiment on Twitter. “We still have stories left to tell in this universe… the future is bright.” This echoes what BioWare has been saying about Mass Effect for most of the past two years.

Gamble told Eurogamer earlier this year that “Mass Effect is certainly not dead.” In the full interview, Gamble made clear that the studio doesn’t yet know what’s in the future for the series, saying that BioWare and EA leadership “have to sit down and work out what that looks like.” He says that “we want to make sure there’s a future” for the series, but that all comes some time after Anthem.

Gamble also said that despite Anthem’s focus on online cooperative play, “no one should worry this is a template for anything.” The studio makes different types of games every few years, and he says “we’ve made an MMO, we’ve made open world, we’ve made Jacob’s Story for iPhone. We’ve made so many different kinds of games and that will continue.”

Hudson also had similar comments around E3. In an interview with Game Informer, Hudson says that although “a majority of the people at BioWare are working on Anthem,” the team does “have people who are figuring out what a next Dragon Age would look like.” We do know that Dragon Age 4 is in development, but there’s little more to go on than that at this point.

As a founding member of the Mass Effect team, Hudson states, however, that the series is “my baby.” He also says “of course we intend to get back to it at some point.” So while you might be waiting a good long while for a new Mass Effect game, you can rest easy knowing that, at the very least, BioWare wants to make it.

BioWare Is "Definitely Not Done" With The MASS EFFECT Series, According To Producer Mark Darrah

I do hope they continue the Mass Effect series. Bioware needs to return to form with the next Dragon Age and Mass Effect games.

If I'm being honest, I don't see Mass Effect returning to it's former glory while EA owns Bioware. EA has been showing a lot of disinterest in single player, story driven games. Any future Mass Effects will probably have a live service, multi player aspect. As much as I hate that since I loved the first three ME's.

Casey Hudson doesn't have the right to say that anymore.

This gen has been an utter a disaster for this series. We could have had ME 4, 5 and 6 as genre leading / generation defining games with the coop mode really catching fire. This is probably my biggest disappointment in gaming that one of my 2 main series has lost so much of its former glory.

I'm surprised we never got a remaster for this gen. And if they do remaster the trilogy, will they actually remake the combat/mechanics in the 1st game to match 2 and 3? or will it simply be a visual remaster?

With that being said, I'd rather have a whole new GOOD Mass Effect game than a trilogy remaster.

I want both. They'll be mine on day 1!

Yeah, it seemed like no-brainer with plenty of good will left for the original trilogy. I'll be happy whenever it comes but yeah, a combat upgrade for ME1 would be a big step. I don't know if I'd expect that though unless they wanted to do remakes.

A proper AAA Mass Effect game is well overdue. I wish Bioware hadn't split their resources and time between Andromeda and Anthem and had put all those years and effort into just one ME game. Even some of the good stuff from Anthem could have been used in a ME game. In the end neither were hits even after the massive success of ME2 and 3.

If they did that, then it would be an actual remake, not a remaster which is what I want. They should take the Kiwami approach to Mass Effect

A remaster is cool as I'm tempted to play Andromeda.
Yeah, I need to go back and finish it.

The original ME trilogy is right up there with my all time favourite games so the remaster will be a big priority when it’s out.

I never played the trilogy but I remember watching the cutscenes back in the early 2010s. The reviews/reception for the fourth game is only holding me back, but I don't really have a space game in my ps4 library so I think I'd get it someday. Hopping to different planets sounds cool to me.

Oh have to play the original trilogy then (unless you got your fill from the cut scenes alone). ME2 is one of my favourite games full stop. The first is more exploration based and has clunky action but this improves massively in the second. It's just an awesome sci-fi RPG and one of the biggest series of last gen.

If they include the collector weapons from ME3's multiplayer into single player, I'm in. Otherwise, **** off.
Yeah, I like those weapons a lot. I love not having to worry about ammo too. The games are great regardless of this though.

I really hope the delay ain't too long

Aside from the ME3's completely **** ending, keeping the 3 collector weapons bound to multiplayer was an unforgivable sin to me. Especially since the collector armor was in single player. I wanted to merge the suit and weapons so bad and never got to. **** that!
