So the Mass Effect series has been put on hold and the Bioware Montreal team has been demoted to a support studios assisting other Bioware and EA projects... Interesting...

it's not that I didn't like it.

but more that I couldn't even get into it due to the totally limited Character Creator - which thus prevented me from even playing the game how I wanted to play.
 
I just used default Scott Ryder and so I don't know about character creator much, didn't browse through every option
 
Missing out on the story and whole game over the limited admittedly awful character creator is really silly.

Has anyone checked out the new expanded character creator?

There's been 2 updates with more options for character creation, what's still stopping you now?

Enjoy the character and story and not focus on creating your own guy or in your case..probably your own female Ryder

it's not silly if the idea is to play as your own custom character.

which is why I play Bioware games or games that do offer character creators.
 
There was a big update yesterday.
 
I just checked and I saw the update, but the CC didn't seem all that different?

maybe the changes were more subtle?

I'll have to play around with it more later on..........after Persona 5.

I haven't checked it out since the update, but it has to be better than the original character creator. Still can't believe that CC was in the final game. It being limited didn't even bother me. Limited choices are fine for me as long as the limited choices are good. But the choices they gave us ranged from "meh" to "burn it with fire". Hell even the tattoos and scars were ****ing ugly. How hard is it to provide us with some good scar and tattoo choices? It's not hard to consult a tattoo artist. The world is full of them.

That Sarah Ryder model is never going to look good no matter how much they patch it. But they could at least get rid of that damn bulbous nose. How hard is it to fix her nose?

They just need to get rid of the Ryders period and bring back the Shepard. Mass Effect: Andromeda could be just one long weird ass dream while Shepard is unconscious on the Citadel waiting for Search and Rescue. At the end of the Destroy ending when (s)he takes their breath Shepard wakes up terrified from that awful night terror.
 
I really miss Shepard but like Scott Ryder. I want Andromeda 2 some day. What makes Andromeda bad isn't story, characters or gameplay but bugs, certain character designs, animations and other things that needed to get polished
 
Those new species look fugly though and not in a cool way like Turians or Salarians. I feel like this game was a halfhearted attempt at keeping the series from stagnating until someone with a clear vision and direction for the IP comes along.
 
It was a decent direction and vision but rushed, unpolished and lacking in execution. Mass Effect 4 based on 3's extended cut ending probably would have been a better direction though.

Doesn't matter either way now though because there ain't anymore Mass Effect in the near future! :(

[FONT=&quot]Mass Effect Andromeda was released to mixed reactions, to say the least. The series itself is on ice as the developers have been moved to full-time support for Andromeda. The silver lining here is that they've pumped out patch 1.07 that fixes a number of issues.
This patch is rather small in comparison to the huge 1.06 update. It does, however, make the game run more smoothly with fewer crashes and a few edits. The entire patch notes can be found below:
Mass Effect: Andromeda – Patch 1.07 Release Notes:


  • Fixed issue where server would auto disconnect when sending strike teams on APEX missions.
  • Fixed a crash on UNC Outlaw when nearing outpost of signal source. (Kadara S.O.S.)
  • The Athletic Casual Outfit will now unlock for all entitled players (Deluxe edition content)
  • Fixed an issue which prevented completion of the Nomad upgrades / Shield Crafting quest. Please travel back to the Tempest in order to trigger completion.
  • Fixed >1080p UI placement
The latest update should be downloaded automatically for Origin users and users should be prompted on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Haha, I think a fair few would be fine with that.

Btw I remember you wanting tech armor and it's in the game (guess you probably don't care now after the reception to the game though lol).
 
so... they just really need to bring back Shepherd next time. All those characters in all 3 games can last a few more, easily.

He took a breath at the end of 3, so it's setup... They can't ruin the original trilogy with more Shep because they already did that in the last 5 minutes... so may as well. :lmao:

when I checked the CC in the last update, it looked largely the same as the original CC. maybe slightly better texture on the faces? but certainly no major overhaul/update.

and I agree with you. If you give us limited options, at least make those limited options decent.

In fact, I want really good preset models, because the better the presets, the less work I have to do to customize it ( beyond the cosmetic changes to make the character how I want ). lol

but here, we got the worse of both worlds. We got decent to blah presets, and then we couldn't even fully customize those presets by actually changing the face parts.

so, we were stuck using those blah presets. and some of those were truly hideous. :cmad:
