The Official Moon Knight Thread - Part 1

I did buy it. Well, the first arc of the 2006 series. Than I had a choice to make, and Ghost Rider wins out every time. Every. Time. I do have that series complete in trade, along with Vengeance. I ain't going anywhere near Bendis's **** series.

That counts, right? Right?! I tried, dammit! I really did!

Sigh…why can't they just do Moon Knight without trying to add something new to the character...

My only apprehension is that Ellis does not have a great track record with established character continuity... but he seems like he will be touching on what's happened before...

But Moon Knight's character continuity is kind of a mess isn't it?

And this is one of the few new projects in Marvel Now 2 that interests me. I might consider it given a thumb through.

Ellis' Thunderbolts run was absolutely phenomenal and his "Extremis" arc in Iron Man is a modern classic, so I might give this a shot.

I just hope they don't neuter the character - Vengeance of the Moon Knight was a cheap Daredevil knockoff that felt like a toned-down Batman. I loved the dark tone of the 2006 series but that run was plagued by anti-climaxes and story arcs that went absolutely nowhere...

Down South might have done nothing to advance the story, but it did give us the Zapata Brothers. And who doesn't love luchador assassins who tag in and out of real fights?

I thought this was supposed to be a fresh start, no mister I'm Spidey, oh no wait I'm Wolverine, no no that isn't right, I'm the sentinel of liberty himself, Captain America!!!

Multiple personalities have been a staple of the character since the 80's when he was Steven Grant, Marc Spector, Jake Lockley and Moon Knight. I'm sure Warren Ellis will be pulling more from that than Bendis's recent run.

I'm looking forward to Ellis' take, for once. Probably because I give zero s***s about Moon Knight normally, so I don't really mind if Ellis screws him up. The "detective of the weird" idea sounds fun.

Look at Bendis's run as out of continuity, and it's fun

That is a hard to solve mystery

But Moon Knight's character continuity is kind of a mess isn't it?

It has mess-ups, and disjointed at some points, not a mess

and when was he the night's greatest detective?

Since the new series started?
Wonder if he's still 40
Is he back with Marlene?

I want to know if using that name was a joke with the writer with the same name or what? I asked Steven Grant himself in CBR, didn't get a reply
