A remaster is simply a port. In recent terms it refers to taking the original game and improving the visuals by upping the resolution and possibly adding new textures and increasing the framerate. With that said, its still the same game. A remake is new title. Its inspired by a game but its developed new from the ground up. Ratchet and Clank was already remastered for the PS3. They've said that this new game will be a remake which will streamline his origins with the new movie. Its inspired by the original game but expect new areas and content and this should look dramatically different as it will be a PS4 original title as opposed to a PS2 port
according to the latest rumors, they've got plans of moving on on their own. !It's a move Nintendo should make![]()
yeah man, nintendo is synonymous with video games. they're not doing so well with the wii u, but they can certainly take the heat. i'm sure they'll bounce back.Nintendo getting out of the console business and making games for others is an interesting concept. I can't see it ever happening. And honestly, while I hate the Wii U, I do have very fond memories of the NES, SNES, N64, and Gamecube. I hope they can one day again have a killer console.
your second statement would only happen if sony or mS buys them, and nintendo ain't lookin to be bought.I think they will too but IF they don't,then at least they would still be synonymous with making quality games..unless they become like Sega but imagine a Mario game using the power of a Playstation or Xbox!
IF they were to become an exclusive first party developer for Sony or MS then that would give that console a major boost!
also, one could argue that after going 3rd party, sega & sonic's seen a very steady decline in popularity. i don't think the same would happen to nintendo, but it's just sad, you know.
it's probably coz of that photoshop I posted.I doubt the exact same thing would happen, but Sega and Nintendo operated on the same hardware-based business, so if Nintendo were to go third party they'd undoubtedly go through a big downsizing like Sega was forced to do.
EDIT: I legit didn't realize this was the PS4 thread when I posted this.

even before the dreamcast died, i think nintendo's IPs had bangin more popularity than sega's.
and even that that IP didn't exactly keep up in popularity.SEGA never had as many popular franchises. SEGA only had one franchise in the same league as Mario, Zelda, Pokémon and Donkey Kong.
SEGA also has a habit of doing nothing with well received franchises.
huh? but you had to click on the thread to get to the discussion...Nah, it was just the Nintendo talk, wasn't paying attention.
