I hope she get's a real costume by the end of the film...
It seems some of the core elements are intact. They have the red colour scheme, they have the jacket segueing right into gloves, they have a dress, albeit not a mobility-limiting pencil skirt that goes down to her feet and leaves flowing trails to trip her up. I like the look for the movie, though more red in the outfit wouldn't hurt.
Isn't the whole point that SW and QS are very much NOT Avengers? They represent everything the Avengers are not, so I imagine the grungy plainclothes is meant to contrast the shiny pristine uniforms of the othersThey could have easily redesigned the core elements of the outfit and still make it fitting for film while being distinctly "Wanda".
What exactly is wrong with something like this:

Especially compared to what everyone else in the Avengers is wearing?

I wouldn't exactly bet on her having an "Avengers outfit" here. In a sequel, sure
The jacket and the gloves are separate.
Elizabeth Olsen said she has to wear a secrecy cloak to and from set because they don't want to show what her costume looks like. She also said that her costume is elaborate. They wouldn't show her final costume in this special if they are making her do that. What they showed us in the concept art is just civilian clothes that she wears earlier in the film.
I think that she looks like a disaffected European youth. That is what I think she is when introduced.
They'd make her wear the cloak either way, as they want as few paparazzi photos out there as possible. And that costume looks fairly elaborate to me.
It's probably not exactly what she'll wear but it's in the ballpark
And I do not understand this "early civilian clothes" idea. Whedon's adding them to the film due to the conflict between their ideology and the Avengers'. There's no point in including them if they're just going to suit up and make nice after the first act. Maybe they'll wear something else in the final battle or something but this is likely their look for most, if not all, of the film
Good point, although you can't really tell whether that's a HYDRA logo in that pic. Seems similar but it could be anythingAnother point to consider is that there isn't really such a thing as an "Avengers uniform." They all just wear their own clothes. I wouldn't have any objection to Scarlet Witch wearing something like this for the whole film. The only thing that makes me think she may get a costume change is what appears to be a HYDRA patch on her jacket in this pic.
Scarlet Witch's power is nothing like Jean Grey's, not to mention they don't even look alike (Wanda is brunette, while Jean is a ginger), so I won't worry about that.

Maybe she rips the patch off![]()

So what's wrong with something like that is she's a hero and an Avenger there, not a troubled, lonely outsider
I love the design, looks really good! But then pretty much anything would on Olsen...![]()
Even a chicken suit?

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon Joss mentioned that Wanda had both telekinetic powers, and can "get inside your head", so there's telepathy involved as well. In terms of her power set, the MCU Scarlet Witch may be much closer to Jean Grey than her 616 counterpart.which are revealed in the CA:TWS mid credit scene
Wanda's costume looks fine, though I think I may have bumped into her twin at a Madonna concert back in the mid 80's.
Have a link?
Anyway, I'm fine with her being MCU's version of Jean Grey. Wanda's powers have always seemed rather vague and undefined so making her powers easier to understand for the GA seems like a good idea. Plus, I've admittedly never been a big fan of her powers.
