Age of Ultron The Official Scarlet Witch Thread - Part 2

That can happen in a future film. Maybe even post Phase 3 when the stakes can be a little lower, if they are still around.

I'm not digging the 'she's a telekinetic and sort of telepath' dialogue I've seen used a couple of times, and now by Whedon himself even. Wanda's power should be much more complex than that... Making her into a Jean analogue is doing a disservice to both characters.

I don't think her powers will stay at just that long term. A Dr Strange apprenticeship would help bring out the dark side to her powers  (which she may have just not tapped into yet, being a kid and all).

He may have just described her powers like that in the promo as Wanda's powers could be a bit trickier to explain in a short sound bite.

I hope so. But it should be more than her moving stuff around, even before Strange comes into the picture. Show there's something more than mere TK happening, show some reality warping effects.

Yeah, maybe.

Her powers already seem much more visceral than Jean's did in the X-films with what look like hex bolts even if they are just some sort of TK trail.

Yep the MCU is based on the comic books, so its kinda gonna have magic/ mystical characters in it. Was there some confusion about that?

Also the worst thing they can do in movies is try to scientifically explain how someones powers work. Your better off keeping it very comic book and just giving basic info. It ruins it when they turn the movie into a science class.

People in the movie theater dont care about the in-depth scientific info on how Spider Man can climb walls and swing around. He gets bitten by a radioactive spider, gets super powers. Thats all we need to know.

Hence Science FICTION

And I can turn that argument and say that the GA won't care if thee IS a semi-detailed scientific explanation for the powers, as long as they look cool.

Basically the only people who are going to care/whine about "well no, they should explained this way and not this other way" are obsessive fanboys on the internet. "It ruins the film," not for about 99.5% of the audience.

I strongly doubt that they'll have a relationship in the film. Even though they did in the comics, Whedon most likely didn't run with that aspect. Hopefully.

I think they will have some sort of relationship in IW1.

And you thought Thor/Loki fanfic was bad...

And it also doesn't help that the twin did have a incestuous relationship in the Ultimate incarnation, while Aaron and Elizabeth have been on screen together as husband and wife in "Godzilla", thus giving more ammunition for their artists.lol

Or [BLACKOUT]Dr. Strange[/BLACKOUT] I think that was rumored at one point too.

I really don't think that's likely I'm sure Strange is an origins film.

I also don't see why they wouldn't have signed her on for IW, you'd think at least they'd sign everyone on for that film, then decide later who they actually want/need

I guess it comes down to audience reaction, right? If the audience falls in love with the twins like they did Loki, we'll be seeing much more of them.

I guess, but then you could do that easier with a longer picture deal.

Normally I wouldn't think twice about it, but this is a studio that signed the guy who plays Bucky to a 9 picture deal. So I was just wondering if perhaps that's all Olsen was willing to sign. And so we won't see more of her than that. I thought at least 3 was a given.

I found it strange Boseman only signed onto 5 films, not the usual 6. That's the type of thinking the Marvels long contracts have got me doing.

bc there's already likely a ton of heroes in that. Unfortunately some will have to get cut

I can see Scarlet in IW. Perhaps even a very breif cameo along with Quicksilver in Civil War. Showing where they are and their reaction to the registration act.

Quick question would Scarlt Witches mind manipulation work on Thanos?

Not in the comics no, Thanos has telepathy as well and would be far more advanced.

Why doesn't this Wanda have some kind of body armor?
does she need both hands free to cast spells?
