I'll give you Hamm and Cavill, who was actually my pick. But Hammer? It's with Hammer that I have a hard time picturing Superman.

Wow, this Joe guy is a really bad choice, imo. He looks nothing like Clark Kent to me.

I compare Brandon as Supes to him and no, he doesn't cut it, he's just not likeable enough either. He totally has the wrong presence, imo. Joe's nose is very distracting, ugh.

Visually Routh was never my ideal Superman so I'm not upset he won't be returning. I'm really excited to see who Snyder casts, hopefully he will do a better job then Singer did.

Q: Why so?

A: Because he's an extreme unknown (similar to Routh and Reeve) who resembles the character more than any of the men mentioned on this thread (MY personal opinion of course) and has the acting talent to back up his looks. yes, he's a bit reminiscent of Bruce Campbell but i always thought Bruce Campbell would have made an interesting Superman back in the 90's. Spencer is theatrically trained, is tall enough, and has a very solid build. unfortunately, his biggest obstacle is that he's not on many folks' radar.....which is why i don't expect him to get picked. however, if WB intends to follow up Reeve (and Routh) with a qualified actor who can offer something new to the series i think they should go with Spencer. i feel he fits those qualities to most.

i think Spencer's got a great look for both Supes and Clark. i think Joe's got a great look for Superman (sans his nose) but not so much for Clark Kent. i just can't see him wearing glasses and trying to be a mild mannered reporter. also, glasses tend to make noses stick out more than they usually do so that would be a real problem for Joe. if he's cast, i predict he will play an INTENSE Superman (which is actually what we need after SR)...but i'm not so sure about him as Clark Kent.

Routh just looks more trustworthy than Joe does. certain people give off certain vibes just because of their looks and it's hard to find a man with looks that you can trust. Joe, despite the many pictures posted of him, just doesn't have a naturally wholesome look. he can give nice, friendly facial expressions...but in his default look he looks a bit menacing. on the other hand, Routh somehow just cannot manage to look menacing or threatening at all. now that's actually a bad thing imo, but Superman should definitely be more friendly looking than anything.
