Is may be just me, but does anyone get a Greco-Roman feel from this - the flowing cape, the neckline......very regal, very powerful.

If Cavill got this chunky, I would be very happy to see this style used.

i usually dont like the redesigns of the suit but this actually looks pretty cool. i wouldn't want see it in a film but it's still a very creative design

I think because superman's suit is so iconic, along with the fact that there are soooo many anti-supermen and alternate supermen, that it never quite sits right with me when someone tries to re-do it.

If you change supes' suit, you also have to change bizarro's, cyborg superman's, etc.

The suit is also the main way you keep track of which alternate superman is which. You know from the classic suit that this is THE superman. I don't want to see a superman on screen with a suit that looks closer to earth-2 superman's costume than the classic for example.

Dude, I can't tell you how much this post is gold. That's an excellent way to describe how I feel about big "alterations" to the suit. It feels like I'm looking at an else world Superman or the Supermen of the future. I may think some of them are cool but I know the character wearing it is not the Real Superman.

Edit: maybe this shoulda been for the Costume thread? Haha it seems to happen a lot in here so I don't feel too bad.

Now that looks like Superman. The face that is. Honestly not a fan of the rest, but largely because it's from (I think) Superboy. Nothing wrong with that, just reminds me of a boy in the suit, not a man.
But anywho, for some reason, his face in this one just makes me believe. Not that i really had much doubt in Cavill, though I am glad to see him now in the role, rather than when he was first talked about. A bit too young then.
