The Official 'Thor Rate & Review' thread - Part 3

See in the Comics Sif wasn't attracted to Thor until he learned Humility. Once he did Sif was attracted to him but Thor loved being on Earth and Sif couldn't understand that and preferred being on Asgard. lol

Oh so in the second film, you think thats where they'll take things between them? I know she was a childhood friend to Thor. What about the Warriors III? Did they grow up with them? Do they have a really long history together?

Actually the Warriors III are OLDER than Thor. They're like Thor's older brothers. They helped train Thor in some things.
Sif, Balder, and Loki are all Thor's age. There's a trade paperback Called, "Son of Asgard" dealing with the four of them as teens. Warriors III make an appearance as well as the Enchantress all at a younger age.

About the next film and Sif, yeah I can see Sif getting deeper involved with Thor, all kinds of fun can happen. lol

What do you mean all kinds of fun can happen? lols :oldrazz:

Other than that, I wanna see more of Thor, Sif and the Warriors III doing some ass kicking as a team. Would be cool if they filmed some backstory of them training Thor and Sif. I want to learn more about the 9 realms.

Gods are odd, tho even what Loki's capable in comics I'm not sure will be covered in a movie.
In Comics Loki gave birth to Odin's 8 legged Horse slepnir, fathered the Midgard Serpent, Fenris the wolf, and Hela goddess of Hel.

I'm sure they can just rationalize it as Loki created them though magic and his blood or something; thus, since he is their creator he is their father. Something like that.

So is Balder one of the original Warriors 4 or he is separate?

See this is kind of what a Superman film needs to be. Action, different dimensions/worlds, a galactic threat of some sorts, or at least some bad ass physical villains to go along with some mental villains.

I swear if we get another real estate hungry Lex Luthor I'm done with Superman films altogether.

I think most of these were taken from the Norse mythology and used in the comics.

Balder is supposed to be the perfect Asgardian. If he is killed it signals the end of the world. In some ways he's supposed to be like Supes just not in powers.
In the regular Marvel universe for YEARS Odin had hidden from common knowledge that Balder is Thor's HALF Brother and Loki's STEP.
In MYTH because Odin has this vision of Balder's death causing Ragnarok, he has EVERYTHING swear they wouldn't kill Balder, but they MISS asking the plant Mistletoe. All the Asgardians were having fun with this idea because everything they tossed at Balder would bounce off!
Loki makes an arrow of Mistletoe and gives it too Balder's other KNOWN brother who is blind, and He fires the arrow into Balder killing him. Bringing a Ragnarok.

Yes, they are, that's what I was saying. Bestiality just isn't covered too often in a movie. lol I really don't think Marvel will make a movie like that. They MIGHT suggest something but not go into detail.

Is that the one where Brunnehilde and Sif get into a cat fight?

^^^ Same here, I liked it better with my second viewing and even better with my third viewing.

Funny, I had the exact same experience.

I saw it again last night and I have to say, it's much better on second viewing. I liked it the first time, but like many have said on here, the story felt rushed. For whatever reason, I didn't get the same vibe the second time around. Weird.

It was much better the other two times I saw it and i've head MANY others say that as well.

I'll be seeing it for the fifth time this coming weekend. Doing my part to fight off the pirates who just won't go away.

Well perhaps for a Thor 2, with Loki perhaps not directly involved depending what happens after Avengers, there IS room for Balder. In fact, Loki losing a second time after the Avengers could be great motivation for him to plan ragnarok, so you could perhaps have him discover from someone (Hela?) of Balders existence... Then you can have Thor 3, which could actually end in Ragnarok :P

I'd like for Thor become king at the end of Thor 2 or the very beginning of Thor 3 so he could be King Thor for the entirety of Thor 3.

Then Ragnarock can happen and Thor could overcome Those Who Sit Above The Shadows in the third act of the movie effectively ending the cycle of Ragnarock.

I would actually like to see the storyline where Odin dies destroying Surtur on Earth blended with an Avengers movie, Saving Earth and Thor becoming King at the end of Avengers 3 (being optimistic :D) leaving stories from all the Movies Thor's involved in stepping stones to him becoming king of Asgard.
Thor becoming king should be a finale so to speak as well as Ragnarok.

If Surtur does indeed appear in the sequel, who do you think should play the demonic fellow?

Loki = one freaky ***tard who obviously knows how to party. We've all been there though, right?

A few beers...........

No idea, but if he looks like he does in the comics, it may go some way to exorcising the nightmarish memory of the distinctly 'un-Mephisto' Mephisto in Ghost Rider.

Must we rush headlong into Ragnarok already? I say save that for 3 at least. So much left of the Simonson run to cover. Not to mention the early days still have a few tropes left.

Although I'd rather save Ego for the FF, Thor has just as much claim, if not more to the Living Planet. There's also some classic stuff left with Grey Gargoyle, Absorbing Man, Mr. Hyde, and so much more.

But if we must rush headlong into Ragnarok then at least use 2 to set it up. Something with Balder and Hela. Throw in Amora flip flopping and Skruge sacrificing himself at that bridge. Throw in Loki at the very end and then have a cliff hanger with Surtur destroying the Bifrost.

Sets up 3 quite nicely.

Who is rushing???? I suggested it for the end of Thor 3, and Vartha suggested it even later than that

Well BigThor for one, but I was using the "we" in a generic sense.

But I get the sense that you're just trying to pick a fight with me.

:D

I think they should shoot Thor 2 with #3 in mind, with a cliffhanger which will be resolved with the 2nd sequel and the third in the trilogy. Ragnarok imo is the kind of story that Thor can hang its hat on at the end.

I wasn't trying to start a fight at all, just annoyed that all your suggestions essentially mirrored mine a few posts back, which showed you barely read the page before declaring we were 'rushing' into something.
