The Pokémon "Turquoise Version" RPG OOC Thread

Sorry for the lack of activity lately. It seems as though Shade is going to have a lot more on his hands than I thought with the approach of Red and Blue! :) having said that new Shade post coming tonight.

Also, any trainers who wanna interact with a gym leader PC can come to Galena City! :)

I edited in the sprite map for Weald Town. Slagville Town will be next.

Managed to get Slagville Town in as well, but won't be able to start Riptide Village until tomorrow after work. Heading to bed now.

I'm thinking of dropping Cael in favor for a new trainer in Weald Town. BL, I sent you a PM about it.

"Seth, its crazy to go out there alone."

Seth pointed at the computer. "Look at those weather patterns! Articuno is back, and I KNOW he is. Right there on the peak of Twin Island! TAUNTING ME!"

Professor Campbell sighed. "Even if he is, your father went looking for him and he-"

"Was half the Pokemon trainer I am now. I've trained ever since that day, and now am the most powerful gym leader in all of Toruko."
He held up his hand, motioning with his fingers. "I'm this close to being in the Elite Four."

"Please, Seth. See to reason. Think of your brother."

Seth turned around for a moment, then back to the door. "I'll be back soon, Professor." With that he left the facility.

If you want, I can PM you what actually happened. Seth never chased after Articuno. It was a fluke that Seth was the one who ran into it and not Vincent or Professor Campbell. I've got no issue with you having it be at that same island/area he ran into it so that is likely a spot to find Articuno though.

I will get around to it when it isn't so hectic at work. Not a problem, dude. But I appreciate your interest in the history of the Rivers family.

Finished Riptide Village and edited it into the maps post.

Another lengthy Surge post on its way. Sorry it they're too much. I get kinda carried away.

Latest Shade post updated to incorporate the REAL happenings of Seth's injury. Hope that works for ya, Trusty. Also, I'm dropping Cael. New app coming soon.

The Pokémon "Turquoise Version" RPG Application

Font (be specific): Bold purple

Trainer

What town is your character from (can be from any region)?
Sparkplug City

What is their current location (does not have to be hometown)?
Riptide Village

Starter Pokémon (choose up to six; you are allowed a maximum of one Stage II and two Stage I's at the start; but if you choose not to have any Stage II Pok
émon you can have a maximum of three Stage I's):

1. Mareep (Static) -
Static is Nick's life long friend. He originally won him in a contest put on by Sparkplug Industries when he was six, and they have been loyal friends ever since. Recently, Nick has started training Static in battling, and he is doing very well.

2. Magikarp (Guppy) -
Magikarp is just as useless as every other Magikarp out there, and possibly just as stupid. He will recieve him as a gift from Old Man Winters as he leaves on his own Pokemon adventure. Nick names him Guppy because that's about how useful and smart he is.

Why have you chosen this character?:
I wanted to have a trainer character.

Please provide a small sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 3 paragraphs long and contain at least one line of dialogue):

Nicholas stood at the dock of the S.S. Lucinda, his Mareep Static at his side. "Well, buddy, this is it."

Static nodded his head happily.

He looked up to his mother. "This is it, Ma'. My first step on my Pokemon journey."

His mother smiled at him, wrapping her arms tightly around him. "Do our family proud, son. I know you will."

Nicholas chuckled. "You taught me well. Nobody ever outdoes a Lee."

Suddenly, they heard a shuffling behind them. "Wait, boy!"

Nicholas sighed as he turned around to see Old Man Winters, the island's resident Pokemon specialist. "Oh. Hi, Mr. Winters."

Old Man Winters smiled widely, his fake teeth glistening in the sun. "Hi to you, boy. I brought you a parting gift." He rustled through his bag and found a Pokeball and a Pokedex. He handed the Pokedex to him first. "Now that you are an official member of the Riptide Village Pokemon Club, you are entitled to this Pokedex. It will also help you in your journey."

Nicholas smiled. "Wow, thank you."

Old Man Winters suddenly went somber and quiet as he held out the Pokeball. "This Pokemon is also a gift. It is said that when you have found your inner Pokemon, only then will its true power be revealed."

Nicholas took the Pokemon. "Uhh...thanks. What is it?"

Old Man Winters bowed his head. "You will see soon enough. Strive to understand it. Only then will you succeed as a trainer."

Suddenly, the ship's whistle blew. "Well, that's my cue. Come on, Static. Let's go." With that, Nicholas hugged his mother one last time, then boarded the S.S. Lucinda. As they left the port, Nicholas and Static waved to the people below. "Its just you and me now, Static. Let the games begin!"

HMs do not exist in this game. It's stated in the rules with an explanation. Other than that, the application looks fine just make that edit.

I only put it in there because it says right in the bio for Riptide Village that your Pokemon should know Whirlpool if you want to swim there, so I figured he should have a way to know it. A little inconsistent don't you think? I get it for things like Fly or Cut, but Whirlpool seemed to fit the mold a bit better. Whatever though, I'll just cut that out.

No, there is no inconsistency:

"Near both Route 115 & Route 118 lie multiple whirlpools and unless ones knows the waters as well as the Seaway Ferry Services does,..."

That is where it talks about the whirlpools. No where does it say you have to know the move Whirlpool. It's merely a phrase stating that the Seaway Ferry Service are experts on navigating through the hazardous and sporadic waters.

Hey, Felice is going to be trying for the Sage Badge soon, so I was wondering if I have to do anything special or just post the battle...

Sorry for my insolence, I'm not so used to this yet...

-Arckand

Nothing special, just hope you make it epic and interesting. Getting a badge should be challenging. :cwink:

Just remember, if it sucks. I know where you live.

u got to post ur initiation of the battle than the GYMLEADER posts his retaliation...and then u post ur parts regularly.. make it epic. and Win Felice, after all .. you have the craziest Alakazam. and well.. if it was the videogame, you'd win.. just Alakazam always does. He's the Undertaker of the Pokemon World.

:argh:

"YOU", not "u". "YOUR", not "ur". And Gym Leader is two words.

:argh:
