Maggie's comments were factually incorrect and morally reprehensible. That being said, I rarely boycott a film due to philosophical/moral issues I have with an actor in it. If I did, I would miss a lot of good ones. I still think MG is wrong for the role. She is very hard on the eyes and I have a hard time imagining Bruce Wayne falling for her. Nolan missed it on this one.

YES its impossible to envision Maggie as Rachel Dawes and its just as bad if McAdams or Blunt got the part. Katie did her character good because as a woman she made me admire Rachel a lot. Now I feel emotionally disconnected with this recast which leads me not feeling invested towards Rachel and her relationship with Bruce.

Speaking of Catherine Zeta Jones the press actually compared Katie and Catherine with their similarities one they're married to the legendary actors in Hollywood. Im also stunned with the beautiful sophisticated transformation of Katie. We're now in the presence of a blossoming woman unlike her youthfulness in BB. Also the love affair of the public and press for Katie is just beginning because I saw lots of photos of Katie with fans and Batman fans in the U.S.,Europe,studios at Warner,Disney,Paramount,Fox and companies like Yahoo,Google et al and presently Batman fans that met her at Target and a restaurant at Louisiana. Flickr,Photobucket,TMZ and Wireimage will not share the photos to be linked to various boards. Damn them.
Gotta admit some Batman fans are pretty good looking.
Oprah said the most requested celebrity on her show is Chris Brown(dont know who this guy is), George Clooney and Katie Holmes.
The media knows Maggie is the new Rachel but till this day they keep calling Katie the Dark Knight's lady and on the 9/11 Fundraiser at New York Katie is called Batman Beauty and Batman's ladylove. Some moron editors still call Batman Begins Batman Returns. Warner Bros.is also behind Extra and Access Hollywood and they should know that better.
They should have toss aside Rachel the way it ended on BB then Katie returns for Nolan's no.3 its perfect for the trilogy to come full circle.
But I know my begging wont get me nowhere.

So you really think that America (as a nation) hasn't done anything that would cause them to be attacked by another country?

I'm definetly not suggesting that 9/11 can be justified in any manner (or any other terrorist attack) or that anyone contributed to their own death in any way, and I don't think Maggie is either. If my interpretation of what she said is correct, then I agree with her. I know that terrorists simply attack us for being us and that there is no real reason for the hostility, but you can't deny that America is extremely hypocritical in its position.

Coming from the point of view of a non-American, and from a country which is an 'ally' of America - I can't say that I agree with America's actions. I do agree with the war in Afghanistan, but not the war in Iraq. The fact is, at the moment America is applying pressure on the world to disarm 'weapons of mass destruction', but is stocking its own and at the moment is the only nation to have ever used them against another - and, twice.

So I agree with her, 9/11 was a time for America to step back and re-examine its role. I don't consider it an unpatriotic or anti-American thing to try and improve America's position in the world.

I don't think it's a bad thing to question your country - and I think they are valid questions to ask. It isn't a matter of whether or not America is in the wrong, it's a matter of what can be done in the future.

And, in my opinion, you are wrong in saying that Bruce Wayne wouldn't fall for Maggie. If 'public' Bruce Wayne was interested in her and never found her attractive - sure. But surely 'private' Bruce Wayne is a bit deeper than that, otherwise all that development in Begins was pointless. Let's be honest, it's not a matter of whether it's logical for Bruce Wayne to like her, people are just up in arms because there's no eye candy for them.

I don't mind Maggie Gyllenhall getting the role. She said some stupid crap, but I can put aside the person from the work. Like John Byrne. I admire his work even though he's a total *****e in real life.

The movie is not going to miss Katie Holmes. She didn't do much for Begins, and it isn't like she's got an enormous amount of talent anyway. As long as you still have Christian Bale and Michael Caine it's all good.

Im female so eye candy has nothing to do with this Maggie thingee. As O said above I would be upset too if Blunt or even McAdams got the part. Im following Katie in and out of the public now and she has many similarities with Rachel Dawes and I dont see Maggie as Rachel. My friends and I just had our recast trauma because Disney channel decided to do a sequel for Prince and Me 2 and they recast Julia Stiles. It was awful.
Not only the actress didnt look like Julia Stiles but her mannerisms and ways were so different. I didnt recognize Paige anymore and the relationship became a joke. Didnt care if they break up or got married.
My niece kept asking me why Paige looks different.

Im with Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show that he thinks Katie bolted out of Batman because maybe the part is small or for diplomatic reasons as in with Katie part of Batman its way easy to see she will continue to hog the spotlight away from her castmates.
This is proof from the photos online and the photos I was about to link but was forbidden. The public and photogs are all over her. Our Sept.11 heroes are down with Maggie but they love Katie.
Ryan said its interesting who will be the lucky program to land their first Katie Holmes exclusive interview.

No way I agree with Maggie about her Sept.11 views like other Americans with their conspiracy theories but I dont hold that against her. If some can get past that with Maggie then they should treat other actors the same way with their beliefs,opinions and religion.

I honestly don't see how anybody can complain about the studio getting rid of an actress who was so out of place in a top notch cast. (not movie,cast)

She looked way too young and acted like a teenger who was trying to act like an adult. Now I'm not to fond of Bosworth as Lois Lane, especailly a 35 year old Lane with a son, but her acting was wayyy better than Holmes. Sometimes I almost believed she was 24! I just plain think she was wrong for the role and didn't act it very well, plus she didn't have a lick of chimistery with Bale...not a lick. If she did I might have been able to overlook the fact that she looks like a 20 year old ADA to Bale's 28 to 30 year old Bruce/Batman, even though the flashback told us they were the same age.

I don't know why I keep saying anything to the few people who actually liked her performance though...she gone and I never have to see her in this franchise again. Thank G-d!

What's the point of this pointless video? Who cares what MG says? We're all american we can say pretty much anything we want (for the most part). Our government says whatever it wants....MG is still a very good actress and she'll be fine in TDK. I don't really care what her thoughts are on 911.

Maggie doesn't have the typical leading lady face, so she'll take a lot of flack for her looks. she's certainly not bad looking, but she looks different from what is unfortunately the Hollywood norm. honestly, I'm glad they got her over a McAdams. Bruce Wayne doesn't love Rachel Dawes because of how she looks, he loves her for who she is. That's not a terrible message to subconciously send to the audience.
