all I know about Rachel is she's maybe dating Harvey in this film
and I still STILLdon't see any reason why she should be in this movie
We don't need her in The dark knight
Maggie Is a great actress and will bring serious acting to rachel but there better be a reason why she's back besides bring in harvey

I hope joker kills her lol I mean I hate to see maggie not come back but losing rachel won't change a thing but will really piss batman off at the joker

there's plenty of MILFS in Southern California...yum!

'Rachel' is my psycho ex-girlfriend's name, so I hate the character strictly on principle. Also, "The Secretary" was one of said psycho's favorite films, so there's two strikes. On a positive note, I've seen Maggie naked (I think she has a "get naked" clause in her contract) more times than I've seen myself, and who doesn't like boobies?

I still hope she bites it.

Im hesitant to ask this question. Sorry to be backward and maybe too female but what's MILF? I keep reading that about Katie and saw it on celeb tv.

Example of a MILF

As far as Rachel Dawes is concerned, I'm just hoping they give her a decent script this time.

There's nothing Katie Holmes could have done to change the scene where she's about to go into the narrows, is stopped by an officer, says,"I'm a gotham district attorney," and the guard waves her through without proof or ANYTHING!

WORST SCENE IN THE MOVIE by far.

Rachel had to come back because it is called continuity. I know supporting casts (other than little boys and an old butler) aren't that important in the comics to Bruce Wayne (I emphasize Wayne, not Batman), but after the importance she had in BB I'm glad she just doesn't disappear.

I think it is an intriguing idea that after Joker kidnaps her when we see her again we see he really snapped her mind like a twig and she becomes Harley Quinn. Yeah, it's not true to TAS, but it'd make things so much more...personal. But I have a feeling they are going TKJ route, except with her actually being dead. That works too.

First Jake now Maggie, Heath sure does love him some Gyllenhaal.

im going to be one of "those people" and say i know exactly where she is going...and it will satisfy the more evil of you fans...

I love the expression of empathy on Maggie's face in the trailer. She's a real beauty and a class act. So glad she's on board for this.

That is NOT going to happen... but I'd be strangely okay with it if it did.

I wasn't keen on Maggie but I have to say she looks nice in the trailer ! I still like Katie (C'mon....HIT ME YEAH:o :whatever: :woot: :woot: ) but she looks fine in this !

Loved Maggie's little smile on her face when she shoved Joker away from her in the trailer. That's what I like to see, a strong female character and not some screaming damsel in distress.

Maggie was looking good in the trailer, too.

Am I the only excited about the character of Rachel Dawes (please no jokes)?

A loved Maggie Gyllenhaal in the trailer she feels stronger than Katie Holmes. I love the way she kicks Joker is the balls.

I BELIEVE IN MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL!!!!

Yep, I still think she's WAYYY better than Holmes just by the look she gives in the trailer, she seems for fierceful, determined, a woman of action, serious, MATURE, I reapeat MATURE. I can believe this character now that's she act by someone more at ease doing it. Perhaps Katie would've been better, but I think after all she was just unneasy with the part, thus why leaving, she felt uncomfortable, poor girl. Ultimately, I think the chemistry between Gyllenhaal and Bale will be stronger and more touching than the one between Holmes and Bale. I imagine it more plausible.

I hate that scene with Katie Holmes when the guy in the train is about to attack her and she says "that's right, you better run!" like it's a school bully or something, they were going to kill her lol.
I like Katie but she wasn't veru believable as a strong chick I agree ! It's the same with her "I'm a Gotham district attorney, let me pass !".......:whatever: :woot: Sorry Kate !

Yeah, Maggie definitely exudes a maturity that Holmes couldn't provide in the role. You can tell just by the looks she gives in the trailer: Rachel is actually a strong, independent woman... and actually believable as a district attorney. And I don't care what anyone says, I think she's attractive. Plus, this movie now has no connection to Tom Cruise whatsoever. Upgrade in every possible sense.
