The Reboot Joker

Sam Rockwell; and let's have some fun with it. Goes without saying Ledger's portrayal was outstanding, but this won't be the same Joker. I just feel like the TDK trilogy is so fresh on people's minds that it will be difficult to even think of having a new Joker. Hell it will strange to have a new Batman only 4 years later. Oh well. DC/Warners execs gotta eat.

And Tilda Swinton? Let's be real here...that's ridiculous.

Well if we're going to put down suggestions because they're not going to happen you may want to edit your post so it says nothing.

Am I the only one around here who really wants to see The Ventriloquist in a movie? I think he'd make an awesome film villain.
i'd like to see them... but more classic villains deserve the modern treatment before Ventriloquist and Scarface should appear.

Yes, more than likely in the 6 or 7 years it takes WB to actually cast the Joker again, it will not be Sam Rockwell. But I can't guarantee that. I can guarantee it will not be a woman.

I'm gonna throw Ethan Hawke and Scoot McNairy in the ring. And for the hell of it, James Marsden. I'd love to see him play against type and actually have the chance to shine.

But yes, Tilda Swinton is ridiculous. But she kills every role and has proven she can play androgynous really damn well. Plus she looks the part. I think of Cate Blanchett in "I'm Not There." As out there as it is, it could be pretty groundbreaking.

There are no guarantees. None of us has a single clue how these characters will be cast.

noun: terrorism
the unofficial or unauthorized use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

Nicholson's Joker was not a terrorist.

Technically speaking, no. He just liked killing people :)

Nicholson's Joker was a satirical Joker. It's no coincidence that a film set in the late 80s had a villain who poisoned beauty products and gave away cash to lure people to their deaths.

I hope they utilize Harley if they go the Joker route again.

Wait....are you talking about casting a chick as The Joker?

Well, I'm talking about casting a female actor in the role of a Joker that is sexually androgynous. Not saying they'd ever actually go that direction, though it wouldn't surprise me at all.

If I had to pick, I think I'd like to see Michael Pitt as The Joker. Any of you see him on Hannibal? His mannerisms and behavior as Mason Verger draw a lot of Joker comparisons.

Right down to slicing his own face off. ;)
Then again, Michael Pitt always does kooky really well.

Whoever they eventually cast, I just hope they don't go the makeup and scars route again. I didn't mind it in TDK, mostly because Ledger did such a terrific job of bringing the Joker to life, but I don't want to see it again.

I still want to see Jude Law's take on The Joker.

It'd be fitting, as he was more or less cast as Batman in the abandoned BATMAN VS SUPERMAN movie years ago.

That is something I am very curious about. Which type of Joker they will choose to go with. perma white? war paint? scars? very curious to see which will happen. Look forward to it too. I just hope they stay away from the faceless (leather face) joker that some of the comics are using now.

Yeeeahhh....no thanks.

Ah yeah, I thought he was Superman though and Collin Farrell was Batman?

And he'd be an interesting choice, I agree.

Also, I want a permawhite Joker this time. No scars and makeup or whatever.

That was the rumor, but I think it was actually Josh Hartnett that they wanted for Superman, both for BATMAN VS SUPERMAN and later for the JJ Abrams SUPERMAN project, and Law for Batman in the "end".

IIRC Josh Hartnett passed, and then towards the end, Colin Farrel was going to be Batman and Law was going to be Superman.

Haha was just gonna write thank God those horrible ideas never came to be. Good lord.

I'm okish with Farrel as Batman...

But Law as Superman. JC what a headache that gives me lol

Law would have been the prissiest Superman ever, ha ha.
