Blackbolt. :o

Who is that T-Rex in the background?

This is hilarious because I was looking at it and thinking: "Oh look, Squirrel Girl... and Ghost Rider with a car, not motorcycle... Blackbolt looking like Blackbolt and not some goth kid about to shoot up his school...

... and I never noticed the freakin' red T-Rex. :lmao:

But in answer to your question, I have no idea. Savage Land?

 First I've ever heard of that character.

Yeah I remember when it first came out (the in comic adverts for it in other titles) Devil Dinosaur and Moon-Boy, written and drawn by Jack Kirby towards the end of his career with Marvel.

As an aside in the 'Earth X' series Wolverine was revealed to be a descendent from Moon-Boy's race (pretty much solely because of resemblance. That whole thing was full of some odd revelations. Did kinda like the idea that Galactus was really feeding on Celestial embryo's all along though).

This talk of of the new Legacy series and promised revelations etc has reminded me of Earth X.

 I was doing some research on it, and it looks interesting. And I must have seen some issues on the newsstand when I was a kid since he was around in the era I was reading comic-books, but I can't remember ever seeing Devil Dinosaur before. Moon-Boy sounds familiar, so I've at least heard that name, but Devil Dinosaur is completely new to me.

These days Devil Dinosaur hangs out with Moon Girl, a new character. Shes a super genius 4th grader.

Is he a hero?

They could've had Reptil (from Superhero Squad) hanging out with him.

For one, I'm not sure. Might they have settled for what we do know atm (basically a cut of the action). Not impossible but that seems unlikely to me given Disney's tough stance over their IP's and that they are hardly in need of the money.

What might they have got? I don't know. None of us do so we can only speculate. Things Marvel could have got range from Star Wars ANH distribution, a reversion of other character rights held by Fox, amendments to the t&c's in the existing contracts....It's anyone's guess really, and could be something none of us have thought of, or it might be nothing at all.

Bottom line is Marvel were in a position to get more than just a cut of the money from those shows. Going into those negotiations they did have the leverage to get more. If they did settle for just a stake, like I said before I'd be surprised.
You say they were in a position to get more, than what more did they get? There's absolutely no evidence they got more. They obviously didn't get any rights back for Fantastic Four.

That seems like an odd question. He already said he didn't know if or what more they got. He felt like they were in a position to get more than what we know about and based it on past experience. Maybe they did and maybe they didn't.

We don't know they didn't get any rights back. Feige pushed hard for Galactus and the Surfer back in 2011 and they could have been the focus of the negotiation.

Everyone's so convinced of this and yet there's no evidence otherwise.

And the reason that's the case is because deep down everyone so desperately wants the rights of Marvel properties to go back from Fox to Marvel. So they read into things more. But that won't will it into existence.

We know about Galactus and Silver Surfer because outlets like Deadline reported it. Nothing of the like was reported by this deal. There's no proof they were the focus or on the table.

Obviously they weren't the focus because as Feige said, there are no plans for them right now.

Sure, some people may think about specifics like that, but the poster you replied to wasn't one of them. He said specifically (in bold I believe) that he did not know and then you asked him what he thought it was that they got (if I remember correctly). That struck me as an odd question.

His point IIRC was that what was reported didn't seem like enough and not that he had particular ideas of what more they got.

Ego? Do we know that the Ego trade was a direct one-for-one for Negasonic Teenage Warhead, or do we just know those were two characters involved in what might have been a larger deal... that might have also been tied to the TV deal which was being discussed at the time James Gunn was writing the first draft of GOTG 2.

Obviously neither Fox nor Marvel would want to discuss characters who might have traded hands because they'd want those to be surprises in upcoming films.

Maybe. If so, that ended up being a good character. Unless one of us is the superhero "Fly on the Wall Man", we just don't know. I think we can all agree on that. It does seem like Marvel could have gotten more and, if we can agree on that, one of two things is going on; Marvel got hosed or they got some stuff we don't know about.

Do you have any proof for this assumption?

I believe that Feige was addressing the Fantastic Four, not the cosmic characters associated with the contract. I'm not saying that Norrin and Galan were definitely released as part of the TV negotiation.............but I am definitely saying they were released as part of the TV negotiation.

Until we see an actual copy of the contract or someone in the know explains in detail what is included or not included in the TV agreement, there is going to be speculation about what went back to Disney/Marvel in the transaction. Maybe distractions at ESPN led to Iger getting hosed by the Murdochs, but the man has built a considerable reputation for making sharp plays (Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm) regarding prized IP. We shall see.

Already answered. Read the post you replied to again as I thought the 'I dont know' was kinda hard to miss.

Thanks Incali. Was wondering if there was perhaps something wrong with how I'd written that post but glad it was understood as intended.

Exactly. We can't say unequivocally "Marvel did not get any Fantastic Four characters." because we know of one specific FF character Marvel did get through unknown circumstances. And where there's one, there could be more.

Was it part of the TV deal? Were other characters involved? We don't know, but based on the timing, it's possible that a large, complex deal happened that included Ego, NTW, TV rights and other details we can only speculate about.

Deep down wobbly, I think a part of you wants to believe Marvel already has Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer and Galactus, and they have them locked in a closet for you to open up on Christmas day.

Yes we can.

Thank you Professor X. :oldrazz:

Oh. Well, if Feige said that it must mean exactly what it appears to be on the surface. I mean he's never kept us in the dark before or tailored his statements to give a false impression; especially when it has to do with what will be in future installments.

That guy drives me crazy. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's pulling the strings, but I NEVER take what he says seriously. The one I remember is when he said something like "Captain Marvel won't appear in a movie before the standalone.....unless she does."
