well just have to wait and see. I'm fully expecting a reboot but Im just saying we shouldn't rule out the integration of the current foxverse. Its one of many routes they can take and probably why Disney is currently evaluating the Fox marvel slate they aren't rushing into this.

Yeah I realize that... I'd probably just quit X-MEN movies altogether at that point unfortunately. I really do not want to see those actor's portraying X-MEN anymore.

I rather see the actors play different characters in the MCU. I think the MCU will be smart to cast some of them in new roles.

What if Disney managed to get Hugh Jackman to come back? Would that change anyone's mind?

Lets say for a minute they decide to keep the FoxVerse going because they have so many projects in development and they decide Gambit will be the first MCU X-Men film. What would be the reaction?

Why would Marvel or Disney need to keep the FoxVerse going in order to make movies that haven't been made yet (and were likely to be soft reboots anyway of prior cinematic versions of those characters)? They could easily rewrite those movies to take place in the MCU if they wanted to.

@Darkprime: quote me on this and make it your a signature if you want. I will eat my shoe on live television if these two things happen:

1: Dark Phoenix gets good reviews and a fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and makes over a billion dollars.

2: Kevin Feige confirms that he plans to bring back the Fox-cast along with Ryan Reynolds Deadpool and won’t do a hard reboot of the franchise(very unlikely).

I’ll do it!

That rumor is bullcrap. There's no way they're coming to the MCU. The only way the Fox-Men continuity could ever fit unti the MCU is if there was some sort of universe merging event and that's just stupid. It's never happening

Even if they did, how much longer can Hugh play Wolverine? Would he have the same passion and drive playing the character now after already getting the sendoff he wanted with Logan?

I'm thinking it would be a one off. For Avengers vs X-Men. Given he's always wanted to play Wolverine along side the Avengers.

So the author of that article wrote 400 articles on that website. I have never heard of this website till today

Yes, it would. But not in the way you think. Jackman already had his swan song with Logan, he's said all he has to say with his version of the character over the course of 17 years. Dude is in his 50s now.

I personally want a new Wolverine cut from a completely different cloth than Hugh Jackman. Someone closer to his image from the source material. I don't want Jackman back

I want Jackman, but rather him playing Dr. Doom or someone completely different from Wolverine.

Honestly imo the best thing would be to create a X-MEN Animated Movie Universe. And have all the FOX-MEN reprise the roles as voice actors.

I'd love some X-Men animated movies! Not with the Fox cast of course, but something like the DC DTV movies like Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and Gotham Gaslight.

A Muir Island saga animated movie would be awesome. That rumor obviously came from a huge Fox X-Men fan who doesn't want to see the franchise rebooted. Wanting to hold onto an inkling of hope hence the "If Dark Phoenix does well, Disney will fold it in".

If this rumor is true, I guess that means AOS is officially not canon to the MCU. The Deathlok actor weighs in

Avengers vs X-Men wouldn't be a one-off event though. You'd have to build up to that. It can't just come out of nowhere. So you can't have Hugh Jackman suddenly show up? And what about Wolverine in all the other movies leading up to that? Have him played by someone other than Jackman only to be replaced for that film and then restored again afterwards?

And if they did use the Fox X-Men leading up to it, they'd be saddled with all of the continuity problems of Fox. And then Feige would be slave to all of Singer and Kinberg's decisions from before. Why would he want to be shackled to all of that?

I don't want to see J August Richards as Deathlok. He was boring as heck. But if he did get the role, is he still going to be Laser Tag Deathlok?

I see them recasting him and forgetting about any AOS continuity. That would be the easiest thing to do.

Coulson is dead again anyway. And they should've had that scene where he doubted whether he was really revived or still on the operating table as the very last scene of AOS. But even if he did experience that and decided he was alive after all, that could just be a hallucination and Coulson is actually dead from after being stabbed by Loki.

Hugh Jackman already retired the role. If he changes his mind I hope Disney won't consider hiring him. The MCU X-Men needs a clean slate and I want the Wolverine to be short.

Jackman's Wolverine would be practically as tall as Thor and Starlord.

One downside now that X-Men is at Disney is that they might make some crappy cartoons instead of making good mature cartoons like Earth Mightiest Heroes. DC may not be as consistently strong as Marvel is when it comes to live-action film stuff(yet) but one area they trounce Marvel most of the time is animation. Marvel has tried the DTV stuff before but they stopped doing those a long time ago and even then most of those weren’t very good. It’s a shame.

Marvel is not going to want Wolverine to be a one off character for one crossover event. They are going to want a Wolverine that can be there for as many movies as possible. Jackman is long past that at this point.

Sounds more like wishful thinking from a Foxverse fan than a genuine rumor to me.

It better damn be, I’m not putting stock into any of these rumors. The casting in the Foxverse outside of Xavier and Magneto is uninspired and dull.

Get some fresh blood, which I’m sure Disney will do.

Someone tell Simon stop making up rumors.

Fair point. But oddly enough? I don't even care at this point lol. We haven't had an X-Men cartoon for over 10 years. Whatever Marvel Entertainment/Disney XD comes up with, I'll probably watch. No room to complain when we hardly have anything as is. I'm still hoping those clean slate rumors were true. Earth's Mightiest Heroes was pretty great

That would be a death blow to AOS. Marvel would officially be outing it as non-canon to the MCU

Can a leopard change his spots?

And besides if they felt that strongly about keeping the Fox-Men around, you damn well bet they would’ve included a photo of them from one of those movies on their site the day the deal was closed just like they did Deadpool.

I call BS

Maybe the Avengers recruit the Foxverse version of Wolverine for a very specific reason.Have the Foxverse be part of the MCU multiverse. Just one of the many versions of Wolverine out there.

Well then why recruit the FoxMen from the 2nd trilogy instead of the first trilogy? Wouldn't it make more commercial sense to have actors like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, Kelsey Grammer etc instead of the younger ones?

Also, if we're going to open that can of worms, why don't the Avengers recruit the Ben Affleck DD, Jennifer Garner's Elektra, Tobey Maguire's Spidey, Lou Ferrigno's Hulk, and maybe Matt Salinger's Captain America, especially if Chris Evans's Cap is dead?

Don't forget Wesley Snipes and Nic Cage
