Does this mean that an exchange of certain characters associated with the property didnt swap hands?

It only states there are no plans for the four. I have given up on the four. Marvel has the GOTG so that may be its FF substitute.

It doesn't mean anything. Here's what he said:

"[We have] no plans with the Fantastic Four right now," Feige told AlloCiné in a Facebook video. "No discussions about it."

That could mean anything. Does he mean that at that very second, he had no plans with the FF? Does it mean that discussions are over? That they are playing a waiting game and, therefore, won't discuss it? Is he even being honest about things?

I think they don't have any plans for FF right now because they don't own the property, but if you trust what Feige says publicly, you're being naive.

I think Marvel will get the FF back eventually.

Deep down wobbly, I think a part of you wants to believe Marvel already has Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer and Galactus, and they have them locked in a closet for you to open up on Christmas day.

Lol. Kindly do me the courtesy of replying to my posts as written, as I do with yours, and spare us the wannnabe message board mind reading.

Yes. There's no proof otherwise.

Yes. There's no proof otherwise.

No, no, NO.

"Were any FF characters transferred from Fox to Disney?"

Yes.

Which character or characters?

Ego is the only one that is known for certain.

The facts end there.

Nobody has "proof" that any characters other than Ego were transferred, but you don't have any "proof" that they weren't.

We do know that Ego was transferred so we know that at least one FF character was transferred from Fox to Disney.

Vile...........If certain characters have been traded or exchanged for other characters or privileges associated with the FF property......you, me, Willie Lumpkin, Wobbly, Zarex, InCali, Dark Raven and who ever else frequent this board wouldn't know anything about it unless they decide to use that particular character in an upcoming film. They are not going to announce such a thing.

The only reason Ego was known to us was because James Gunn wanted to use the character for his film and an opportunity presented itself. Nobody here can prove ANYTHING one way or another until somebody decides its time or they have no other choice. If they have Galactus right now and they don't use him for two or three more years you will not hear about it.

That had nothing to do with X-Men TV deal

Trades haven't reported on it either.

"Proof" please?

Trades haven't reported on it either.

What does not reporting on something have to do with whether or not something happened? We just don't know how who got what and for what, but that isn't proof. I think Ego being in GotG2 is "proof" that a property (at least temporarily) changed hands.

Speaking of which...The cover of Marvel Legacy #1! Find an X-Men or FF character and you win a No-Prize!

I don't see any X-Men, but I do count at least three members of the Fantastic Four. :gngl:

When did these "trades" pick up on the Ego deal? One of those characters involved was already in Deadpool getting an extreme makeover. When exactly did FOX/Marvel handshake this agreement? And when did we find out about it?

We knew that Ego was going to be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as early as January 2016.

Can you answer my other question? When exactly did FOX/Marvel sign off on this deal? No one knew Ego was a character in the FF package until they revealed that info in an interview.

Would have been early in the production of Deadpool, presumably before they started filming it, so almost certainly early 2015, sometime between January (when preproduction began) and March (when filming began).

Gunn had already written Ego into his GOT2 script at that time.

Yeah, and the Deadpool side of it makes me think the timing would preclude that deal being connected to the TV deal, but the key point it demonstrates is both Fox and Marvel are willing to transfer characters. So the idea that other characters might have changed hands - either as part of known deals or in completely different transactions - is something that isn't only quite possible, but is known to have happened.

And as we saw with Ego, it was a tightly held secret. Marvel doesn't want to say, "Oh, by the way, we have the rights to Terrax, because that would be a spoiler that we're likely to see Terrax in an upcoming film.

Terrax would be a rather tame spoiler. :o

And we've also seen, from the list of "forbidden characters" that Fox has a LOT of characters associated with FF that they will likely will never use, but that Marvel could use.

Imagine (as one of a million hypotheticals) we found out a year from now that as part of the TV deal Marvel got Kang and Mephisto. Would any of us say: "Wow! No way!! I never in a million years would have imagined that was possible."?

Of course not. Something like that would make complete sense for both parties.

True (without Galactus, who cares), but aren't the tamest spoilers the ones that are most protected?

Everybody knew about Ego long before the film came out. But two weeks after the film came out, we were still using spoiler tags when we talked about the much more minor characters that were revealed in the after-credits scene.

I meant that because he's Terrax the Tamer. :oldrazz:

The point I was just trying to make to Vile is Kevin Feige didn't sit down and call a press conference to announce to the world a trade had been made like its the NBA.

And no other sources leaked this info because nobody knew any terms of a deal or one had been made. He seems to think if it hasn't been reported somewhere its an improbability and it would never ever happen.

I find it odd that some posters think Marvel would immediately disclose any terms of deals involving character exchanges. Marvel is known for keeping tight lipped about things unless its for hype. Feige has only made comments about the FF. He HAS NOT and WILL NOT say anything concerning other supporting characters.

And sources can't report on anything they don't know about only speculate. Something we do all the time.

Yep. The details of everything involved in Marvel's dealings with Fox are not transparent.

Seriously, it's been near 20 years since the old deals kicked off and we are still best guessing reversion deadlines and what characters might be included. Hell, Gunn wasn't clued up the latter as he used off limits characters twice in his scripts (Badoon for GOTG and Ego for the sequel).

Indeed, the most significant insight us outsiders have ever had on the old Marvel/Fox deals came from the court papers in the Mutant X lawsuit. Had that never happened we might never have known Marvel had reserved live action TV rights.

So if we are still in the dark on significant information from deals made decades ago, it's kinda logical to assume we ain't gonna know everything from one agreed just 2 years ago.

Only Marvel & Fox know exactly what was required to make that deal happen, and if they stay true to form nothing will be made public until something becomes obvious or someone let's it slip, like Deadpool's co writer did with the Ego trade.
