The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - - - Part 12

To be fair they're just citing the original article but focusing on this part:

The talks have taken place over the last few weeks and there is no certainty they will lead to a deal. The two sides are not currently talking at this very moment, but given the on again, off again nature of the talks, they could be revisited.

1. I hope that at the very least, Fox sells back the X-Men and Fantastic Four and that Marvel keep the X-Men cast/continuity through an event film.

2. I hope that that the MCU goes to four films a year so we may still get an Iron Man sequel, that Ant-Man can still get films and that the rumored Black Widow film may still be released. I don't like the idea of some characters being shelved to make room for new characters.

3. The Alien Queen is now about to become a Disney princess. Will somebody on these boards please shoop the Alien Queen in Cinderella's dress with a tiara?

Read the article. It just says they are talking right now. No doubt one company leaked the details to try to start the talks up again.

Talks may well continue. There are just no discussions now.

I think, and hope (using that word a lot, but that is the point of the thread), that the talks will definitely be revisited. At any rate, this is still major bridge building.

So, who is the saint of dreams of comicbook fanboys, and where do we direct the prayers to, so this can move onwards again?

Stan the Man told us something was in the wind, now we know.

Bring them home, boys.... all of them.....

AMEN, Brother, Amen!

So, before we all despair, remember, the Spidey talks broke down about this time of year openly before the big move occurred. And, on the negative side, that is a lot of movie studio in one set of hands, which might hit regulatory hurdles, unless the house of mouse promises to just peel off the StarWars and Marvel rights and sell the rest after a few months or years.

According to these articles there are so many hoops with current contracts, it may take awhile for these things to be dealt with if a deal were to happen. That may have killed talk. Depend on how much Disney would be willing to inherit. I'd bet nothing comes of this.

I'll bet my lucky 1945 nickel on that, Darepool. I think this is why Fiege's been so cagey, and A4 is so bloody secret. Odds on at least some financial move for those and the Star Wars rights still happens would be great.

Same thing happened during the talks with Sony over Spiderman if I remember correctly.

I don't doubt they'll come back to the table or may still be in talks behind the scenes despite public denials. They also denied anything was happening with Sony as well.

Stay tuned...

At least the idea is in the wild....

The way I interpret the various articles I'm reading:

They have been talking.

They aren't currently actively talking, but that doesn't mean it's dead - that probably just means both sides are analyzing and regrouping and evaluating if the current proposals that have been offered are workable.

Now that the story has leaked, it will likely put more pressure on both sides, because both stocks are rising and shareholders will be asking questions and will want to know what might happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if the side that was most anxious to make a deal (not sure which side that is, but likely Fox) intentionally leaked the story to get more of a sense of urgency going on the other side.

From the reports, it seems like a lot of details have already been discussed, so this is beyond the crazy, "just throwin' this out there" stage and into the "can we really make this work?" stage.

We need a Stark/Reed teamup gif, and a Sue & Anybody, pref J.V.Dyne, pic.

Oh, and remember the really big chunk.... Say, Hulk v Thing and Wolvie?

Yeah, and also I remeber Stan Lee saying that something is happening, so I guess those talks accure.
And yeah, there is definitelly an intentional leak of this information.

And gods, please, let me play that playlist I have set up for this....

Ozzy's Mama I'm Coming Home to celebrate it,
Chicago's Beginnings, 'cause this would be one hell of a new beginning for the MCU,
and every blasted song with Good Times in the title, for it will be "a good time tonight, rock and roll music, gonna last all night." time.

I hope you are right, it's just something to consider. A lot of hoops and Advil to go through.

Let's put it this way

Guardians vs Annihilus/Phalanx/Shi-Ar

Avengers vs Kang

Hulk/Spider-Man/Doctor Strange vs Juggernaut

Silver Surfer vs Thanos

Captain Marvel vs Brood

Fantastic Four vs Namor/Inhumans

Jean Grey and Misty Knght BFFs

Black Panther/Iron Man vs Doom

Wolverine, Storm, Cable, Havok, Rogue, Beast and Sunfire joining the Avengers

Juggernaut joining the Thunderbolts
