Get Doctor Doom in an Avengers 4 credits scene and I won't be able to even.

Get the FF in Avengers 4 and tease Doom post credits!!! That is what I want :gngl:

Exciting as this is, I'm willing to bet that we're going to wait a bit to hear anything official from Marvel and even longer before we see them announce any X-men or FF films. It's going to take some patience.

Oh, don't be a party pooper.:woot::oldrazz:

I was willing to be patient to wait until 2022 and beyond when I thought the rights would revert naturally. This is WAY ahead of schedule and WAY better than anyone could have possibly imagined. If anybody had even suggested 2 months ago that Disney would be in the process of finalizing control not only of FF, but all of the X-Men, I would have called them crazy.

Sure, we have to wait for the Justice Department to do their thing, but worst case there is they trim the deal down some. There's no logical reason they would prevent this part of the deal from happening: "Wait a minute! We can't allow you to take over the licenses... to characters you OWN."

Feige can start planning right now, TODAY. They won't be filming anything tomorrow that uses the Fox characters, but they can build them into their five year plan and rewrite sections of films that will be released in 2019 to fit future plans.

I can't believe I'm finally going to see a GOOD Fantastic Four movie in my lifetime.

Three times FOX delivered a horrible portrayal of one of the greatest superhero teams of all-time. A horrible portrayal of one of the greatest and most badass villains of all-time.

Show em' how it's done, Marvel!

The REAL Doom and the real F4. :hmr:

People have never seen those things on film before.

I am really hoping we can swing getting the FF into Avengers 4 and get a post credits Dr. Doom tease! Make it happen Marvel!!! :doom:

I'm hoping Marvel saw this coming and had planned accordingly. Fiege said they had 20 films planned for the future? Well, they just got at least two additions that fans will be clamoring to see sooner rather than later.

I think that number just got larger.:woot: They can now count on Fox releasing 2 or 3 fewer Marvel films per year, so if they add 1 film per year to the schedule they were already roughing out, that will still be a reduction in total Marvel films.

Spoiler alert: Kevin Feige has been planning for some time already. The man's a futurist.

Marvel could easily put some really small teaser in Infinity War if they wanted, something with mostly CGI, green screen or really simple scenery (Silver Surfer silouette across space, or the landscape of a European village with a sign "Latveria")

That will show them :yay:

They finally can be acknowledged again!!! They finally won't suck!!! We'll finally get the REAL Dr. Doom!!!!

Once the MCU FF movie is out, I may just die a happy man after seeing it!

That's been my goal - to see a good FF film before I die. That goal just got much more realistic.:woot:

Worth repeating that all cash made from the assets being acquired will go to Disney from the time they sign it. I assume they will go to an escrow account and then to Disney once it's cleared. That means profit from Deadpool, New Mutants, etc will go to Disney.

So there will be films released under Marvel and under Fox? It's not like Disney and Fox are merging right? More like Disney is now running the ship at Fox?

This thread shouldn't be closed!

First, there's still Hulk and Namor distribution rights at Universal, and Spider-Man at Sony.

And even if Marvel had them back, this thread needs to stay open forever. It's one of the most significant historic threads on the Hype if not THE most significant.

I think we also need to keep it going until all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed.

I'm not concerned about the details, but it will be a while before it is finally, finally official.

Very exciting times ahead. What are we gonna get? I can’t wait to find out.

Exactly. Plans for future future films can start changing right now to leave an opening for whatever they want to do witb these rights.

It means they are family (Fox, Disney Studios and Marvel under the Walt Disney company) for the time being, so they can do anything they want, but most likely Marvel will want all comic book movies under the Disney Studios banner (they will probably want to set them apart from the old ones under the Fox banner)

My bet is Silver Surger first, but something big with the Skrulls first.

Yay! was the Skrulls in Captain Marvel somehow affected by this (Disney knew they were not going to be a problem?)

Ok can they start pumping out X-Merch ASAP. Pleaseandthankyou.

lmfao we are all excited but probs won’t get anything for ages.

"Disney will also assume approximately $13.7 billion of net debt of 21st Century Fox."

Looking at you, Fantfourstic....

If they run with the idea that the Skrull homeworld was destroyed by Galactus, like in A:EMH, then maybe that is where we get our first tease of Galactus!

I think we need a break from the huge purple villains as a whole. Lol.

How are you feeling about all of this, Willie? What are your thoughts? Out of everyone on this thread, you've arguably been keeping hope alive the longest.

I'm ECSTATIC! I've been holding back on the celebration until the official announcement and here it is.:woot::woot::woot:

I've been waiting for this since the mid-seventies when Stan Lee claimed they were working on a "Big Budget FF film"

I picked up every magazine I could that featured articles on the Corman film while that was in production and even bought a copy of Carnosaur on VHS because it had a trailer for that film... only to see it disappear and only learn later what happened.

Then I followed all the rumors as Peyton Reed, Raja Gosnell and others were rumored to be directing until Tim Story was finally announced. I watched that 2005 production with huge anticipation only to be disappointed when the first Thing images arrived and then much more disappointed with the actual film. Rise of the Silver Surfer was even worse, but I had renewed expectations when we started getting Marvel films that they could get the rights from Fox.

It was a roller-coaster from 2009 to 2013 as I hoped we would get an announcement that Fox had sold the rights, but when it became clear Fox was going to make it, I tried to hope Trank could pull it off... only to be brutally disappointed when the cast was announced. And then the drip drip drip of awful news and rumors until the turd was finally laid.

Since that, I've been reasonably confident that, with enough time, the rights would return, but I was afraid we were in for a long wait... and the talk of a Doom film made me nervous that it might never happen.

Then this turn around over the past month has been amazing and today is definitely one of the best days of my life!

1. September 26, 1992 my son was born
2. August 29, 1989, I married my wife
3. December 14, 2017, Marvel gets the rights back!!

People in the Captain Marvel thread are toying with the idea that Rogue could be the reason Carol Danvers isn't active since the 90s :ilv:

I know it's impossible, it would mean that Disney was always going to get Fox (or at least the rights), no matter what.

'Cause that would be impossible, right?

Right?

Damn mouse with super pockets...
