The Avengers The Robert Downey Jr/Iron Man Thread

umm, i'm not sure. Maybe RIM. I sure remember hearing that

Who said it had space flight capability

It's referenced in IM1 that he can go into space, at one point during the making of the suit Jarvis remarks, "Perhaps if we plan to visit the outer planets we should..."

So ironman flies into that portal? Maybe? Guess that's where he gets to show off thespace flight capabilities of his new armor

I *do* think Iron Man gets a chance to show off some astro-nut armor (there seems to be at least a portion of the movie which takes place in space), but I don't know that the portal necessary leads to outer space....probably to another dimension instead. If not one of the "Nine Realms" of the Thorverse, maybe a distant planet, or even something like the N-Zone.

Hope people arent turned off by the invaders being brought to our planet by a portal to take over the world. That was just done in transformers 3. lol. Its been done plenty of times tho, so I shouldnt worry

The Negative Zone would be sweet. Especially if it involved annhilus

I think Fox holds the rights of Negative Zone, Annihilus, and anything that pertains to Fantastic Four until they let the rights revert back to Marvel.

Oh, well nevermind. I didnt think of that. Ah well

Characters, places and things "attached" to the Fantastic Four is a huge, huge expanse. I highly doubt Fox was able to license "all things Fantastic Four," as we've already seen proof that Marvel Studios has the rights to an Inhumans project in development, that Carol Danvers has been mentioned as a recurring character on ABC-TV's upcoming "Aka Jessica Jones" series, which would indicate the presence of the Kree; etc.

I think a lot of Marvel fans these days would be surprised to learn just how many of their favorite heroes and villains actually began in FF comics.

Didnt the f4 guest star in the first or second issue of spider-man?

It could be the bottom layer of the Hulkbuster Armor being Assembled.

i really would like a hulk buster armor granted that hulk beats the crap out of it and it gets damaged...

Well, I think Fox has the rights of Skrulls and/or Super Skrulls, in addition to Silver Surfer, Galactus, and other characters from FF universe. However, Marvel does have the rights of the Inhumans which were part of FF as well. Frankly, I'd like Marvel to just reveal what they have the rights of, instead of keeping us guessing.

I would, too. But I doubt they want to do that, as it's proprietary information, and they might well want to keep the other studios in the dark as to just exactly who and what *are* on the table.

Feige already confirmed the Skrulls were with Marvel. That's where the speculation first started.

Oh dear, these Skrulls...Loki really outdid himself this time...I saw the clip of Iron Man blasting the butts off those aliens and the action sequence just gave me chills all over. His new suit (MK 6, right?) is pretty awesome though I'm wondering what he did with the triangle center.

The MK6 suit is the one with the triangle reactor, the suit he's using in the final battle of The Avengers is the MK7 model.

The rights I want Marvel to get back the most are the F4. Imagine Stark just popping over to the Baxter building for a chat with Reed Richards about the Negative Zone or something?

And the F4 and the characters that come along with them are needed for a proper cosmic side to the MCU. An Annihilation trilogy is my dream. :D

Agreed :word:

Ive been a bit bored today so I rewatched IM2. I began pausing at the part where Tony is reading his fathers notes. The last page of notes references "the zeeman effect" which I then googled. All of the science aside, this effect has a electric version or something called "the stark effect" which is in reference to johannes stark, some old school scientist. Probably doesn't have to do with anything, but its skill pretty amazing the amount of detail that went in to making these movies. Did everyone already know all of this? Oh well.

I watched Iron Man 2 last weekend, 1st time since it's theatrical opening weekend. Now that I have seen Thor and Captain America, Iron Man 2 is a lot more genius than I initially gave it credit for.

I really have to see The Incredible Hulk. I was so put off of it because I did not care for the first Hulk, and I really don't like Edward Norton, but, Liv Tyler is in it, and I do like her. Maybe next weekend.

Exton is an interesting name, congratulations to the couple. :yay:

Almost forgot to comment on how much I enjoyed on how Tony just acted like his usual self at the end of the SB Spot...despite the fact that Loki is in the room with him alone.

I actually roll my eyes at things like that, it's pretty stupid on Tony's part and he gets his just reward when Loki throws him out of the window.
