Days of Future Past The Sentinels - Part 1

The sentinels just don't look like they were made/designed in the 70s.

Like I said before, the Sentinels have a 90s/early 2000s feel to it. Like they reminded me of the designs of walkman/discman/MAC computers back in the 90s/early 2000s.

I rather have the past Sentinals than the future ones at the moment. They just seem a tad to overboard.

This is kind of the point. They're not supposed to look like something that they would have had in the 70's. They are supposed to look advanced for the 70's. Decades ahead of where you would expect technology to be.

Wow, how many times does it have to be repeated? They're saying the design does not look like something a person in the 70's would have considered futuristic.

It was designed by someone with a post 2000's mindset, and it shows.

What does wolverine think he can do with bone claws against a sentinel?

What does that even mean?

What, specifically about it, suggests that it could not have been something conceived by someone in the 70's?

He looks like (in the latest trailer) that he is trying to smash them into the firing mechanism. Not sure what that could do since Sabertooth easily steps on them and crushes them in XOW.

Funny, I remember giant purple robots appearing in the pages of X-Men in the 1960s...and that's exactly what these are. The 1970s Sentinels are slow and clunky looking. That's how robots were previously thought of. That's how the Sentinels were designed in the comics.

The future Sentinels are slender, agile, and have an organic texture. That is a modern design. Even Nimrod who was designed in the 80s and was supposed to be futuristic was just a hovering trash can.

I often forget how defensive people get when you're the slightest bit critical.

Remember when the sentinels needed purple underwear :p

This.

The 70's Sentinels even have like, diodes for eyes.

The future Sentinels were very scary machines. To me they looked a bit like DC Comics' OMACS.

The Sentinels were so disappointing in this movie. Everything from the look, CGI and overall execution was just bad.

I personally thought they were fine, in my book. I give Singer props for making the scenes with the future Sentinels dark and gloomy as possible without it being Rated R.

Future Sentinels were awesome, like the hunting killing machines they were meant to be. Terminator like.

Loved the past Sentinels they were perfection imo.

The future ones were imposing but I would've preferred them bigger

To me, those future Sentinels were Nimrod-like. A bit.

The future sents were very scary, think they're the closest to nimrod we'll get in the move-verse.

I'm usually not one to complain about CGI in these cbms, but man, the future Sentinels looked bad.
