BvS The Superman Suit Thread - Part 2

Love the changes they've made to the suit, in particular the slightly brighter blues and reds. I hope that's reflected in live action also and not down to the colour adjustments made in that picture alone.

On first impression, I thought the sound of a square belt buckle area was just wrong - but looking at it, it provides a cleaner and more concise divide between the top and bottom areas of the suit.

As much as I love the MOS suit more than any previous one I've seen in live action, without a belt/trunks like traditional Superman costumes it does suffer very slightly from the all-in-one effect - like a wetsuit. The enhanced buckle effect, coupled with the cleaner lines on the piping and such do a lot to counteract this and separate the top and bottom halves of the suit.

An all-in-one suit isn't necessarily a huge problem, but I do think it sometimes gives a slightly androgynous look if not handled correctly. But that probably stems more from western culture, where we've had pretty much decades of seeing men in trousers/trunks and girls in skirts.

Agreed fully.

I've always been confident in how the suits will look. Lets hope the script is as good as the costumes.

Is it simply a function of the angle of this pic, or did they shrink the \S/ symbol on his chest?

the changes are very subtled. I loved the MOS suit and this isn't that far removed from it. I'm not fan of the square buckle but it's not a deal breaker for me.

The square belt buckle seemed a little odd at first. But it's grown on me. When watching MOS I never paid attention to the oval belt buckle. So I doubt I'll pay attention to this one in BvS.

I would hope not, if you're watching an entire film paying attention to and focusing on his belt buckle then yeah there's problem haha.

Either it's the same size or it has shrunk BUT they have also adjusted the chest so the layout is the same but things overall have been adjusted.

Look, I liked the MOS suit... what I don't get is how a square buckle makes it anymore 'belt like', buckles do come in oval shapes. Maybe the square buckle makes it look less cowboy but it doesn't make it any more belt like. They should have just left well enough alone. I don't believe anyone was pining for a square buckle. Aside from that, it's fundementally the same suit. It isn't any more regal or any less pajamaee (not that I found the MOS suit to project either of these attributes). I think the piping changes probably make the costume a bit more comfortable for Cavill, but that's the extent of the improvements. The changes otherwise are so minor that had they left the oval buckle I would have looked at this and thought nothing more of it. But god damn that square buckle! I can't see it and not think what was the point of that.

As a Scottish person I don't have any issue with the rain, but for those of you who do...

Question.
Do you think new Supes suit may have the Cape Yellow Shield?

I think it most likely that the cape hasn't the shield. But if they did square buclke and straight lines, I wonder if the shield on the cape will be there to give another Earth feeling and combine Krypton and Earth. Guess all things will be clearified with another shot that shows the cape. Hope we get some shots on SDCC, even concept art or promo art would be awesome.

There is some weird photoshop artifacts when you lighten the shadows on the images;
1) around the right hand there is ghosting.
2) the back of the right leg has a weird straight line (could be result of cape folding).

Also the new patterns on the S shield, wrist gauntlets, and belt look to be inscribed with kryptonian characters.

Apparently, according to the photographer who took the Superman pic, Clay Enos, that was the non filtered pic. I wonder why they didn't release that!! The suit looks brighter and Superman looks beautiful!!

So will we see similar reveals of WW and Batman so that together they combine to make one big rooftop scene, or will they do a Batman shot on a Metropolis rooftop as a complete juxtaposition?
