BvS The Superman Suit Thread - Part 2

I'm not one who normally dwells on costume minutiae.~ but the square buckle is a miss, simple as that. And the changes, subtle as they are, do not improve upon the original in any significant way. It all seems rather unnecessary. And it is.

The only thing I liked about that Lois & Clark outfit was the color blue that they used.

I think that is due more to his hair being wet or gelled in that picture.

Chris Reeve suffered from alopecia and I believe he wore a rug in some parts of SII and Superman 3 and 4.

It's hard to tell, (There appears to be something going on there) but if it is, it's different and in a blue closer to the rest of the suit.

I think I prefer the MOS look, but there's definitely nothing wrong with this. Colours seem better, though the shield seems smaller. Interested to see more.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the colours given it's been through photoshop.

Great, more muted color palettes. The colors on the first suit, and likely this one, is right on but the way Snyder shoots you can hardly see them. Everything's washed out and cold in the frame. If this heavily touched up pic is any indication the film will maintain that dreary look, which does not favor Superman at all.

It's a good representation of the look of MOS regardless. And the fact that its a promotional still should indicate that its indicative of the look of this film as well. I quite like the suit itself as well as the more classic hair. I just wish it was all shot more vibrantly.

I think most of the changes enhance an already great suit. The only thing I'm undecided about is the square "belt buckle." I don't dislike it, but I'm unsure if it's better than the oval. It might help if I could see it face-on.

Lmao He looks awesome, and in most comics this is exactly how his hairline looks.


I def like this suit better then the 1st, LOVE the belt design, the new boots, the lettering on the "S" and belt, and it looks as though they padded the chest up a bit to make him look much more mature and beefier! LOVE IT!!!

My main HOPE was that they brighten the blue up a bit (either that or Snyder stop using them crappy filters in his films!). It may be brighter, but from the look of this pic, the pic is set in Batmans grimmy grainy dark world! Loving the Pic though, Henry's looking like a savage!!!!

Remember how livid people were when it was revealed that Superman had an \s/ symbol for his belt buckel in Superman Returns?

I think the suit is great. Like Cavill, it's familiar looking now and makes it feel like an old friend.
