Woah there, I never said it should be exactly like Man of Steel. I simply stated that the new Man of Steel suit is evidence that Hollywood costumers are getting better at making muscle padding show through fabric superhero costumes. I think you could get a comparable look though if you took TDK's segmented plate armor and put it under a fabric bodysuit. Granted, some Hollywood magic would be used to make sure the suit stayed sculpted to the armor, but it's a believable explanation for the classic look.
By the way, I disagree with a thin suit not working for Batman. I'm pretty sure if you were wearing kevlar body armor underneath your batsuit and running around fighting bad guys, you'd want the bodysuit to be a light, breathable material.
My personal preference is for a TDK style advanced, armored batsuit utilizing segmented plates that resemble the human form (I just don't like the end product we got), but I think there are plenty of ways to make a believable fabric suit that is similar to the comics depiction and both sides in this debate need to be more open minded. In all honesty, it all comes down to personal preference. Certain extremes excepted, given enough know-how and effort, a wide range of arguably believable batsuits could be employed on film.

Can't argue that.
