i gotta admit... Cavill REALLY has a great Superman build. I mean, that guy truly looks like how i imagined a real life Supes. Impressive is an understatement.

He's talking about how much he bulked up. Cavill is HUGE.

I pictured him just fine as Superman.

I couldn't picture him as the stuttering, hapless Clark Kent though. Still kinda can't.

The TDK suit makes itself look like the Death Star just fine, it doesn't need any external comparisons to accomplish that

Seriously though, whoever is complaining that this Superman suit looks armored is being ridiculous.

I didn't know how much he would bulk up for the role. And I didn't know if they were going with the traditional hair-do or something a bit more modern. Plus his face looked a little puffier before because he wasn't as cut. It's easy to imagine but as we all know things could turn out quite different, especially in the movie biz.

But it doesn't matter. I think he looks perfect as both Superman and Clark Kent. No complaints here.

Cavill is wearing muscle padding. He bulked up for the role but not that much. You can see from the pictures in civilian clothes that he isn't as big as he is in the Superman costume.

Posted this earlier in the main forum as a discussion about the movie suits. Thought some might like to see it as an answer to whether or not a comic style suit could work. Love the quality of Nolans work but hate how far its strayed from the character in the books.

i've always hated superman's outfit, and every incarnation of it has been silly. But that suit is fantastic! It's better than the Batman suit, imo.

Agreed. I hate that picture. No disrespect to the artist, it's just that I don't like the idea of Batman being in a Halo suit.

I was never a fan of this. It's like taking the issues with TDK suit and making everything 10x worse. And it looks wayyyyy too bulky.

I've seen his Immortals footage, his Clark Pics, his press stuff quite recently. It may seem trivial to some, but you don't selectively grow huge shoulders, upper arms and chest by that much in such a short period of time. I know what I'm talking about.

And Evans' arms and legs are nowhere near the size we see here on Cavil, his frame is just quite a bit wider than Cavil's. And as for Hardy's Bane, I've expressed my disappointment in his physical appearance quite a few times now, compared to the source material it's pathetic really, Bale looked bigger in Begins.

Believe me my friend I know exactly what Im talking about as well and it is possible to get almost that big in that amount of time, especially with all of his time spent building his body everyday not to mention all the supplements and drug enhancers available to him from his "hollywood" nutritionist.

I know theres padding in the suit and I know Bale was bigger as well, but if I recall didnt Bale get even bigger then he was in BB before cutting down for shooting, after being in machinist shape in lets see about 8 months?
