That isn't enough? Catwoman's line of work has very limited risk of harm or fatality. A sharp contrast to Batman's, who conceivably could be killed on any day he goes out. World-class thieves exist and there are numerous accounts of their escapades. I'm not aware of any that have decided to deck themselves out in heavy gear. I can believe a long and successful career can be made for someone who has the talents to pull it off. The same cannot be said for someone of Bruce's nightly activities.
Just going off what we've seen in filming, obviously Nolan's Selina is going to be involved in far more than your run of the mill jewelry heists. However this is not the norm for Catwoman, so expectations will have to be adjusted accordingly. IF it is revealed that she's doing extreme activities that go well beyond thievery, in heels (!) no less, then the double standard issue is prevalent -- it will apply not only to Nolan, but the fans who are willing to give Catwoman an exception to the rules Batman has adhered to. Until then however, I don't think such an argument exists for the conventional interpretation of Catwoman, as it has existed thus far.
