I can't believe some her want the briefs.![]()
I know. The trunks are better off gone.
I can't believe some her want the briefs.![]()
How do people feel about a black utility belt such as those depicted below?

I like it, and I think it would be a great replacement for the trunks on a gray and black movie Batsuit.
I prefer boxers myself.I can't believe some her want the briefs.![]()
First off, I get. Secondly, they would. Thirdly, the GA for the most part wouldn't give it a second thought as they've proven time and again that they'll pretty much accept anything. Fourthly, they'd be fine with a grayish costume also. WE are the ones that get all hung up in these sorts of things. What people don't get is the bigger picture... I'm not suggesting they should have put the DE suit on Bale but if they had we would have all gone and seen the film anyway and if that had been the only thing about Begins that was different the film itself would have largely been received with the same response, especially from the GAa pretty goddamn good Batman film. And in any case, it's not like Batman is going to be posing on screen like MJ in a friggin' Hanes commercial! Done right the trunks would be only slightly more noticeable than any other blackish part of the suit. Hell, take two or three pieces of rubber off the TDK suit (from around the naughty bits) and you'd have something that in effect resembles trunks and the GAand everyone herewould still have gone and seen the film, the film would still have made it's money, and no one would be complaining about the TDK suit looking like underwear.i prefer all black...and like the begins suit...think with the proper adjustments it could be the perfect suit...but heres a thing that people dont get...
trunks wouldnt transfer for batman...maybe superman...but not batman...the GA would laugh like crazy if all the sudden after all these awesome all black costumes were on screen they decide to add trunks...and dont bring up arkham asylum the game...its a game...
The trunks would work perfectly if done well. The trunks just look better.
If the GA accepts a guy wearing a cowl with pointy ears and a cape, they'd accept the trunks as well. Are trunks really sillier than a cape?
In the 1970's and 1980's people routinely work gym shorts over sweat pants while working out. When's the last time a lot of people wore capes? Given that, how can anyone expect the GA to accept capes on superheroes? Or accept superheroes for that matter.
What "practical" purpose does the chest logo serve? No matter how they make them look, I never care to see the trunks done on film, the comics that's another story. Let me ask what practical purpose do the trunks serve? As far as I know they serve no purpose whatsoever except for how batman was originally drawn at the time when all superheros visually had them.
Capes are silly. Are you positing that capes are silly?
Yet there was no uproar, from either the GA or fanboy camps, regarding the 'trunks' that, for example, Night Owl wore in the Watchmen film. No one complained of impracticality, or questioned the purpose, or the look. In fact, that costume was generally well received.I could care less about their practicality or purpose, they don't look good. They never did.
That's what happens when you start talking about practicality... it is rather fun though, isn't it.I like that we're comparing the importance of the trunks with the importance of the cape and chest emblem.
To the left or right?I think that Batman ought to wear a huge, curved codpiece. That would scare the criminals.

Considering they make fun of the costumes themselves in the movie and the fact that Watchman picks apart superheroes, that's not quite a good example to use.Yet there was no uproar, from either the GA or fanboy camps, regarding the 'trunks' that, for example, Night Owl wore in the Watchmen film. The TDK logo looks dumb.Yeah, logical fallacies are great fun.
There's nothing really practical or impractical about the trunks. They just look dumb. Whether they're in trunk form like how Darwyn Cooke draws Batman sometimes, or they're in brief form, or they're in manties form. They would just look stupid.
Neither the cape nor the chest emblem look dumb.
The TDK logo looks dumb.
I like the larger chest emblem; the one thing I hated the most about the TDK suit was how tiny--and basically invisible--the bat logo was.
As for the grey, the only good purpose it serves to me is to contrast with the bat on his chest. Other than that, I see no reason why his suit should be grey.
