He did in TDK...
so why wouldn't he now? :P Nolan has only 250 million on the budget haha maybe not so much as having a new suit entirely but upgrades to the current one. Like more armor between the plates or more armor for the exterior? So he's mobile and also protected better than the begins suit.

From what I've seen so far, it looks like we're getting a tweaked version of the TDK suit. The neck is a little different, and I think some of the plates are arranged differently, but it still looks like a jigsaw-puzzled mess.

It would make sense to do a new suit from a marketing perspective, and there seems to be some sort of precedent anyway, but I just don't think it looks like we are yet. And I really don't want a 3rd act suit that magically survived the entire Batcave being blown up by green rubber duckies.

You serious?

That is the only picture where the suit even looked half good. And that shot was most certainly not in the movie. The suit looks terrible in almost every regard.

I agree that Nolan's suits are just okay (it's the narrative, acting and drama that wins us over) but I don't get when people think the BB suit was better. Fat face and fat necks aren't better than jigsaws and skinny necks.

His face looked just as fat (if not fatter) in TDK. As for the neck? It's not ideal, but I'll trade it for all the things wrong with the TDK suit.

again they're workable not ideal.

I gotta disagree with you because Bale looked fat in two key scenes in BB: When he reveals to Rachel that's he's Bruce in the narrows, and the other scene when he was explaining to Gordon Ra's plan with the fear gas and microwave emitter. He looks better in TDK but I have to admit he looked too skinny.

See, I didn't think he looked fat. The only time I thought the suit looked bad was when he was lumbering around in the beginning of TDK, but I'm pretty sure he played that up because of the plot involving him wanting to upgrade.

Apart from 'Teh Puffy', i think this suit is far superior to the TDK re-design, aesthetically. Obviously the movement was crap, but i didn't believe for one second that either suit was really motionally practical nor adequate defence. TDK suit looks ******ed. Yes, i said ******ed. That is what i think when i look at him in that suit. His little ant neck holding up a bowling ball with spikey ears, and the horrid patterns all over the suit. It's ill-fitting and ugly. I don't care about this pseudo-practicality, the suit should be beautiful and magnificent. And downright sexy :fhm: :awesome:

I think most folks would agree that the BB suit > the TDK suit. I wish they could have just focused on making it lighter and more flexible for TDK rather than giving him that wacky jigsaw puzzle suit. I think TDK had the perfect combo of having an armored look while still appearing sleek and not distracting. The TDK suit was way too busy and did not have as good of a silhouette. I hope that it's not the only batsuit we'll see in TDKR.

I think you're putting your own personal feelings on which Batsuit looks better to most folks.

I think you might be doing the same. I'm pretty sure there's a fairly reasonable number of people who favor the BB suit. Maybe not a majority, but he's definitely not alone.

BB suit with the moveable neck from the TDK suit would easily be a fan favorite and put this endless bickering to rest.

I, for one, prefer the Begins suit. But the TDK suit doesn't bother me so much so long as it is filmed in the right angles, lighting, etc.

Not at all, I would never say one costume has more for or against it than the other one as it's been pretty evenly split here. General audiences don't seem to care.

The BB suit's cowl looked bad in certain angles too. just saying that both suits have their weaknesses and strengths.

I noticed "teh puffeh" in those 2 Narrows scenes as well. But it doesn't ruin the suit for me, it's still my favourite on film suit.

TDK suit doesn't bother me enough that I want it to change. I can bare with it. I don't immediately try to notice the flaws in the suit. It doesn't bother me at all when I'm watching the film.

Read: dark

Haha no, but everyone's pretty much saying the same thing: they both have strengths and weaknesses. I'm willing to admit that. I loved that Batman could finally turn his head properly in TDK.

teh puffy is my favorite look for Bats for some reason. The muscly sort of fatish Wayne/Batman (TAS, Begins, Jim Lee drawn) is and has always been my personal definitive version.

This guy gets it! The suit may be as ugly as sin but often we don't see most of it (dinner party :argh:), so it looked tolerable in The Dark Knight, but with all these daylight scenes in Rises :(.

Everyone has their own opinions on things, but i cannot believe how many people have problems with TDK suit. I just dont see anything wrong with it, infact it just improves on everything. The BB suit was beastly because he looked animalistic in it. But when it came down to the fight scenes, something just dosent seem right if the guy cant move his head. So even if Batman is one of the most skilled martial artists..it looks kind of oafish when he actually fights. Tdk suit looks so much better on film. The night club scene where Batman takes out a dozen of Maroni's thugs is a true testament to that. :awesome:

Your claims are kind of outlandish, since the whole reason they created TDK suit is so it would look great on any and all light conditions. Nolan said it himself that the BB suit would look tacky without the proper lighting. But TDK suit looks great no matter what.

True as this may be, the TDK fight scenes weren't particularly impressive. I think the TDK suit gives an illusion of mobility but is actually not as flexible as people suppose.

Nipples on his knees!!!! Jagged senseless overly busy leg plating. The bat bra with a tiny unnoticeable bat symbol. Here Batman looks more like the tumbler. The car should reflect the man, not the other way around. I like the idea behind it but the overall design is simply uninspired. We've seen better fan art than that piece of crap.

Harsh...and wrong.

Well they were alot more impressive than the BB fight scenes. I couldnt tell what was going on in some of them. But in TDK, every blow that Batman lands on his foes is clearly visible. Take the Nightclub scene as an example. The first time i saw it, i couldnt really make out alot. I suppose due to the strobing lights in the nightclub. But when i saw it again, and then a few more times after that, i realised that you can pretty much see everything as it goes down. Batman is really brutal when it comes down to fighting. That added to the fact that he was totally pissed off at that point in the movie. I felt bad for the thugs lol.
