The Dark Knight Rises The TDKR Batsuit Discussion Thread VIII

I always felt while the suit was probably extremely restrictive, Keaton most likely played it up a bit too.

Like the scene after he drops Napier at the chemical plant and he's about to escape. I'm sure he didn't have to turn quite like that, but in that world, in Burton's universe, it all seemed to work nonetheless.

The only reason this keeps being brought up is because certain people who may not like Nolan's approach, point to Two-Face, or the fear toxin as examples of "fantastical elements." Which, to them, by extension, means that Joker could have been permawhite, Bane should be huge, Catwoman should have ears, blah blah blah.

While there are fantastical elements in each of these movies, there are certain rules too. There is a certain level of plausibility whether some of you want to admit it or not, that lends these films to different interpretations of characters, which is why they were successful in the first place.
Because the approach was different. There's only one film left, after that, let's hang Batman from as many gargoyles as they can build. For Pete sakes it'll at least give people something new to start whining about...
Sure, but there is nothing implausible about Bane being taller than Batman, or Catwoman having cat-ears. There is nothing fantastic about either of those things - especially compared to things we've already seen Nolan do in this franchise.

Can you guys sometimes not just agree to disagree? you know its really just another persons opinion?

Of course I do, but if all we ever did was just agree to disagree when someone poses a point or argument that we disagree with, there really wouldn't be much discussion now would there? And if that was the case, there really wouldn't be a point to this place. But since that discussion really has nothing to do with the batsuit specifically, I will move on.

Now, I've been thinking, and as desperate as it may seem, I've decided that I shouldn't give up on a new suit just yet. Where it stands now, we only have three confirmed scenes with the TDK batsuit (the scene in the teaser, the riot scene, and the scene inside City hall). Unless I'm mistaken, none of the spies have gotten close enough to the Batwing to confirm if the Batdummy is wearing the same suit or not.

So right now, that's three scenes from a 2.5 hour movie that we know of - and we have no idea when these scenes take place during the film. Could be near the end. Could be nearer the beginning.

So I suppose it's possible, however unlikely, that there may be a new suit.

Yeah, totally agree, If i'm honest it was not aimed at you, there are just certain posters who cant seem to accept another persons opinion as that, a opinion. They have to ram their own opinion down the throats of others as if it were fact.

I knows its a message board, and without discussion there would be little point to it, but some people just go too far. But again that's just my opinion.:yay:

I would swear this is a manip i did some long ago, along with a couple ones from the party scene. Yeah, it definetly is

I like it, the ears are nice as is the wider mouth area, the only thing im not keen on is the stomach, a little too plain for me.

If NOTHING else, this Cape and Cowl, from this costume should have been used. I hate the velvet blanket over the rubber suit he has now....

I completely disagree. I prefer the velvet-like texture of the cape on Linda Hemming's Batsuits for the Christopher Nolan films. And both the BB & TDK cowls look far better than that.

Yes, but all the other people who dont like the suit or dislike some parts of it know how to express their opinions. You just sound like a spoiled child. Shall i repost some of your previous comments? Because they really are quite childish and amusing. Ive read the Batman comics since i was a kid and i appreciate both mediums of conveying the batman mythos, both Comics books and Movies. Heck, ive even watched all the animated series and films. And are you saying that the Batman in Burton and Schumacher's films was more animalistic than the one in TDK? Just because Michael Keaton held his the cape up, like Jack from the Titanic everytime he saw a thug, dosent make him animalistic. The way Batman glided in the air and smashed into the Prewitt building in TDK was very Animalistic. I could give you many more examples but im not going to bother..since your not here to have a conversation and discuss things. Your here to show your hate and act like someone just stole your candy.
I'm having a rather civil convo with you. On my part anyway. Yes I have complaints about the suit. If you don't like how I express that then ignore my posts. Don't take it so personal. Yes I'm here to show my hate for certain elements of how a character is physically represented because I've invested time and money into this character just as much as you have. But the difference between you and I is I am not directing my comments at any one individual as you are here. I'm allowed to hate TDK suit and express that how ever I choose as long as it is within the rules of the board. No profanity or name calling directed at an individual or persons who take part in these discussions. You on the other hand seem to forget that.
I don't like TDK suit. I do not feel that it represents the essence of the character. I'm sorry that bothers you so much but it has nothing to do with you personally. So don't take it as such.

Agreed. To say that it is implausible for Catwoman to have cat ears then wouldn't the same apply to Batman?

Yeah I can see the Begins emblem and chest plate now. That is definitely a manip. TDK ears aren't that long and sharp either. I like this pic.

Then by that logic nothing from a comic book should be used or referred to.

There are many ways to adapt the comics for the big screen, Batman Dead End is only one of them, and a ****** one at that.

Come on. It wasn't that bad for a fan film. And you have to admit it was better than anything Joel Schumacher put out. Pretty bad considering he had way more than a $30,000 budget to play with.

First off, I only have to admit that I have never actually seen the film itself, just the costumes, plot summaries, and such, because I haven't.
Second, while the costumes look great for a fan film, this is talking about a Batsuit multimillion dollar budget studio film. By the comparison to what Hollywood costume designers like Linda Hemming or James Acheson can come up with, the Dead End Batsuit looks like a Halloween costume.

I thought this fan made cowl was a little better. He still couldn't move his head much though.

Man, bottom right screenshot.

Talk about "teh fat."

You mean "teh mother f***ing man". That's what Batman should look like. Kevin Porter puts both Bale and Keaton to shame as a live action Batman.

Arkham Asylum body + Comic accurate suit + Kevin Conroy-ish voice = WIN

Oy, hope this Dead End love ends sooner than the last time it appeared.

He looked good as Batman. But his acting was rather poor. I didn't care for that symbol either. Was a good fan film though.
