Well, the Amazing Spider-Man costume looks better for one thing...
 By better do you mean further from the original source material than it's truer to the classic look predecessor?

And I personally didn't like his changes from comic to screen for Spidey. I'll give him kudos for a textured suit as I do think he's the one who started that craze in super hero movies.
But other than that, I just wasn't a fan of his choice of colors, how the webbing was done, the fit of the mask, or the shape of the eyes.

By better, I mean it looks better. I'm not basing it on the original source material. I've read Spider-Man comics (not a lot, I was a casual fan) and after seeing both costumes I like the newer one better. I like how the new one looks on screen. The old one wasn't bad, but I think the new one looks better.

He looked good as Batman. But his acting was rather poor. I didn't care for that symbol either. Was a good fan film though.

Were you watching the same film I was? If Porter did a poor job, then Bale did a downright terrible job.

Anybody else want to see what James Acheson, the man behind the Sam Raimi Spider-Man costume, could come up with for a Batsuit?

Hell yeah.

I hate what they've done to the new Spiderman suit.

He sounded like he was reading off of cards. I liked the film I just didn't think he was that good of an actor.
And I agree with you about the new Spidey suit. There was no need for the "flash art" design.

To each his own, I suppose. I thought he was perfect as Batman.

It's possible to look good and not be exactly like the comics.

Yup. And the new Spidey movie is not a good example of that.

Personally, I think it's an overcomplicated mess needlessly changed from the original.

I guess that makes sense.

Can it be woven in opposite directions to emulate anatomy? I once played around with the idea that he could have armor plating similar to TDK suit but to where each muscle designed plate moves with him like a scale. If that makes sense.

Yup, there are several patterns they use for weaving the lames together. Some use a 4 hole arrangement, some use a 6 hole. But you can do any shape you want. Most of them are made larger than the body so you can wear something under it though.

Well sure, if you like emo punk teen Spiderman

Teen Spider-Man? Heavens, what are they thinking? To me, the new suit looks dynamic, the colors are great and the texture is cool. Most importantly, he looks wiry and lean in addition to looking powerful. Also, in what way can a Spider-Man suit appear punk or emo?

I think the punk and emo adjectives are based on Peter's wardrobe and possible skateboarding tendencies.

I would agree in that it's nowhere near different enough from the comics to be an issue.

Early Peter Parker was a brooding type of guy.

So I'll forgive it.

But he better crack more than one semi funny joke a movie, unlike the previous ones.

I believe reports from the comic con footage said spider-man was a wise-ass by cracking jokes and using his webbing to play around with criminals.

Then it has already succeeded where the previous movies have failed.
