Hopefully the director of the next franchise can do us all a favor and think outside the ****ing box.

Why Nolan wasted this opportunity with Batman Begins... I'll never know.

Why go so far re-establishing the character visually... (The bat-symbol, the tumbler, the bat-a-rang, the Bat-cave)... only to stick with the same bulky, puffy rubber suit.

I've always hated the idea of them using a black & grey/ Blue and grey comic accurate suit. I'm just not convinced it'd look any good.

Plus there'd still have to be some protection under it, again making it look bulky. we have to remember in the comics the suit is not just cloth, its cloth covering armor.

The design of the suit from the Arkham Asylum game would be a good jump-off point.

It's traditional and works.

However, to be truthful, it doesn't make much sense for Batman to not be wearing black...

...just sayin'.

Oh yeah totally, Nite owl would have looked stupid, as would Ozzy.

I think they translated the right ones onto film and 'fixed' the others.

Welcome to the hype. And yeah i always thought that, a guy who hides in the shadows wearing gray.

The largest dissonance between the lore of the costume and the costume itself is that the suit has never been scary.

It's supposed to be frightening. Were I to interpret the series, I would honor that fact and re-design to the suit so it's

(1) Functionally & Idealogically Accurate: It inspires fear.

(2) Doesn't stray too far from the iconic design.

What makes you say that Watchmen had suits that were far removed from the comic.

Uhhh... no, it didn't. The suits in Watchmen were very accurate to the ones seen in the graphic novel.

Sure there are a few differences, but they're for the better. Especially for Night Owl and the Comedian.

I don't kow if any of you read that article a few pages back but budget was the main concern with the suit for BB.

Nolan spent most of the budget on the tumbler, so there wasn't as much left over for production of the suit.

Interesting, i was not aware of that.

Budget saved the BB suit. Or else it was probably going to look something like the lousy TDK costume.

I personally like the TDK costume more, though i'd love the ears a bit longer and the mouth opening wider. The manip on the previous page is perfect.

Were silk specteres legs ever exposed in the film? i thought she wore a cat suit sort of thing?

And yeah ozzy looked much cooler in the film as did nite owl.

Edit-My bad her legs were exposed, the boots threw me off.

Really?... huh, I never knew that.

I guess that makes sense... and really the costume worked 80% of the time in the movie, if you don't look too closely.

I also have the feeling that TDK suit is Nolan's idealised version... so i'm not expecting a radical departure.

Depends if the powers that be at WB strong arm him into changing. Action figures to sell and such.

Yeah but between Catwoman, Bane, Batman new ride, etc... the toy guys probably have alot to work with.

TDK suit will get small tweaks if anything I think.

Anyways... They're just going to paint the Batman toy orange/red and call it ''Super sizzling fire repellent Batman'' or something. :oldrazz:

Nah, we're getting a new suit. No matter how many toys the companies will have to work with, it's Batman the consumers will pay more for.

I only want 2 things with the new suit if there is one.

- A cape that drapes over his shoulders and scalloped. I hate TDK cape, its hideous.

- Bigger bat symbol on the chest ala BB

Well whats it gonna be this time...

''You know Mr. Wayne... this suit makes you far too vulnerable to knives and gunfire...''

slides open drawer for a new suit.

Two steps forward, two steps back...

You never know, Nolan may pull a Batpod and not explain it in TDKR. As the movies go by, Nolan explains less and less.

We will get a new suit, there's not one doubt in my mind about that.

I hope so. The explainations are mostly not needed and quite boring. Batman Begins' pacing suffered greatly from it.
