Do people have to be extremely excited for both?

I'm excited for one for sure more than the other.

Well, these Batfilms are numero 1 for me.

But, like in 08... I'll give Marvel the benefit of the doubt. Knew nothing but Spidey and have since been amazed by these current MCU films. I'd been the first to say Thor (like Green Lantern) sounds dumb, but they pulled it off (we'll Thor did). I'm excited for Avengers but I won't be seeing 6 times the first weekend like TDKRises. I'll always appreciate other's success.

Avengers is in the last 2 weeks. 3 action packed traielrs with a lot of tv spots. of course more people are right now hyped for Avengers. its normal

I find it hard to find people on these boards who are extremely excited for both films like myself.

I'm excited more for TDKR than The Avengers (and I'm super excited for the latter), but I will see both of them, enjoy both of them, ravish both of them and more - for both of them.

Good post, and I agree that is a good comparison with 24. In fact when the [BLACKOUT]fake death[/BLACKOUT] rumors started coming up Jack Bauer's almost the first thing I thought of. That show ended too soon, or maybe not soon enough, give or take. I didn't like that it dragged to the point the ending wasn't very satisfying. Good thing Nolan's going out nice and early with this one.

They didn't need to go past Season 5 of 24.

In a lot of ways the very end of Season 4 and all of Season 5 seem similar to what we hear about TDKR.

Me too. Personally, my hype for LOL and Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D supersedes my combined desire to see any other movies this summer.

the fact that almost noone from the bat boards is hyped for Prometheus makes me sad. your director Nolan is a big Ridley Scott fan. i say f... comicbook movies. the guy is back making a scifi movie. and Nolan when are you going to do a scifi movie? no no no no no Inception. a full scifi movie where youlet lose?

I am, along with Looper and Lincoln. It's weird, some of my favorite films f a year never come out till Nov-Dec and I'll be lucky to find them in a theatre, usually have to wait till the Oscar screener or the dvd. Sadly, most of these don't pop into my radar till late fall unless I follow an actor that is in the film. Case in point; Rabbit Hole, Blue Valentine, (500) Days of Summer [actually was lucky to see this opening weekend], My Date With Marilyn, etc...

Most pumped for TDKR, but veeeeeery shorty after - Prometheus, Django Unchained and Skyfall. The Hobbit comes after.

happy to hear that you are hyped. Prometheus also looks very unique looking. i also see some similar colors and contrast settings like in TDKR. something that all those blockbuster hacks dont understand. i spit on green/blue/orange color correction
