Irony. Gotta love it.

There should be no Marvel vs DC fanboys. You think those companies give a **** about us? Course not. They just like our money. So showing some silly little allegiance or loyalty to a certain company is the dumbest thing i've ever heard.

Would you say the same thing about PC vs. Mac? Or Coke vs. Pepsi? People have different tastes and preferences. Marvel and DC do NOT provide the same product. Their comics are different in a number of respects. Preferring one company's product over another is not a dumb thing, and I seriously doubt it is the dumbest you've ever heard.

Heck, you could use your argument about football teams. They just want your money. Why prefer one team over another?

Sports teams might represent our home towns or even our countries. Can't really compare them with fictional comics.

So no, showing an obsessive loyalty to a certain company that creates fictional stories is the dumbest thing i've ever heard. Good comics are good comics, doesn't matter whether they are DC, Marvel, Image, Boom etc.

I agree that good comics are good comics. All good computers are good computers too (but you didn't address my other analogies, just the sports one). I'm a DC fan and I still plan on seeing the Avengers movie. But not all superheroes are the same across the board, and if someone say prefers superheroes with more god-like or naturally given abilities (a la DC) over superheroes with more evolutionary / mutation based abilities (a la Marvel), or prefers a set of superheroes for whatever other reason, I don't think that's totally absurd.

I don't think loyalty to a particular world / universe / characters is all that weird. People just have more time invested in a certain world that is more to their liking. What I'm objecting to is your painting this as rabid company loyalty. Just because someone doesn't want to see the Avengers movie doesn't necessarily mean they are rabidly and blindly a zombie of the DC company itself.

But this would perhaps be better carried on in another thread.

It's a matter of your personal investment in the characters. I had Batman pajamas when I was five. I don't give two figs about Spiderman or Hulk or "X-Men Post-Original Origins Evolution I"V or whatever. It doesn't mean that I think those characters are inferior, just that they aren't my Superheroes.

I prefer my dog to your dog, because my dog is my dog. I might stroke your dog, but I won't pick up its ****. :)

On the contrary, I just don't want to buy product that I am not interested in. I don't see why that is dumb.

Exactly. I'm a Batman and Superman fan, have been since I was little. I'll go see Avengers or Spiderman, but more as a fun popcorn flick. When I go to see Batman and Superman, I'm more emotionally invested in the film because I'm invested in the characters. And that isn't rabid zombie fanboyism - I'll be ticked if a Batman or Superman film isn't good, because I'm invested in these characters. Whereas when a movie like Spiderman 3 or something sucks, I just sort of shrug my shoulders. Not because there aren't good Spiderman stories (S2) but just because I'm not invested in the character in the same way.

So in fact, I'm MORE critical of DC when they don't get it right than I'm ever critical of Marvel. Its product / character preference, not blind loyalty - and I want the product delivered right.

Absolutely. I am constantly on poor Chris Nolan's case but, without recourse to the IMDB, I couldn't tell you who is looking after Spiderman now.

I hope Christian bale as batman is in the avengers movie

Well all the rest of the superheroes are in it why not batman? Him and rdj would be amazing

Batman & Ironman have a history together.

Since we're way off topic anyway, who would be in your ideal movie JLA/JLI? I don't think the classic rosta is necessarily the strongest one.

Interview w/ Cillian Murphy Being Coy About TDKR

Ha, that was awesome! (Probably not for Cillian though)

Wow. Those interviewers were pushy as hell. I can't decide whether they're good or just plain annoying.

Gotta :hrt: Cillian.

Please god let him return as Crane/Scarecrow.
Even as a insignificant cameo in TDK he rules.
