I gotta go Bale on this one. Mainly because if you go frame by frame you can see a bit of facial hair and I don't remember Tommy having any during filming. Bale did at the beginning of filming though
Good point

Anyone else think the Theatrical Trailer will be released with Sherlock Holmes?

Nice to see after returning to this thread months later, there still aren't any important discussions taking place. :oldrazz:

I wonder what will be the main theme of the trailer? Will they show Bane breaking Batman and use that defeated hero angle? Will they focus on the GCPD hunting down Batman? The Bat Cat relationship?

I wonder how much of the trailer, (and teaser for that matter) will be altered in the final film? We know Nolan loves using different takes for trailers.

Still would of loved to see the tumbler peeling out of the temporary cave :o

Preach brother.

When I first watched the trailer I thought that would be one of the coolest scenes. :(

Almost all trailers have altering takes not in the film. How is this a Nolan specialty that he loves?

Thats simply not true, and I didn't say it was a Nolan specialty, I said he loves doing it because he does it a lot. Watch any of the Begins trailers or teaser, likewise with the Dark Knight. A substantial amount of the content is different in the final product, and that is absolutely not the case with most other films.

Avengers have been in production for like what a month or so and they already have a full 2 minute trailer, all of it being new footage never seen before.

We've only gotten about 45 seconds of footage from TDKR.

Damn you Nolan! I can't wait till December. It feels so far away. It'll be worth it. When we get that 2:30 trailer with all new footage from the movie. I swear if the trailer uses footage from the previous two movies like the teaser did, I'm going to smash my laptop!

I believe they started shooting in late April, which was a week or two before TDKR started.

Yup. Also, Avengers will be out 2 months before TDKR so the release of their trailer sounds about right. About 2 months later (December), we'll get TDKR.

God I hope we either get a couple photos between now and then or they release a couple on the same day the release the trailer online.

I know... I can't believe we still don't have any official production stills (outside of the Bane and Catwoman promo shots). I love the spy set photos but some official production stills would really be nice.

I'd like some official stills of Batman, the batwing, the cave, and some of the minor characters like Tate and Blake.

If we do get a trailer with Holmes, i'm going to pull a Harry Potter and go at midnight, again. :awesome:

Anyone else think the Theatrical Trailer will be released with Sherlock Holmes?

I'm 99% sure it will.

But I think WB may release it on prints of Breaking Dawn: Part 1 first. Teenage girls will be flocking to theaters that opening weekend with their BFFs and reluctant husbands/boyfriends, what better way to get female interest? I mean, you have Catwoman being played by Anne Hathaway here...

And please don't say "well, the reason that the Harry Potter trailer was on Eclipse because the two share fanbases!" That's just baseless and foolish. Any big summer movie wanting to get the maximum amount of awareness will have trailers attached to popular holiday movies, no matter if it's from the same studio or a rival.

TDKR sells itself, but putting a second trailer in with Twilight could stir up more interest. Studios have done this kind of cross-promotion before.

Even if they put a trailer before Twilight, I still wouldn't see it until December (unless of course they put it online shortly after).

Fat chance I'd be caught dead seeing Twilight :o.

I think that the trailer will be on Mission Impossible too even though it's not WB. Sounds like atleast half of TDKR is being shot in IMAX which Sherlock isn't going to be released on. But what is coming out on IMAX the same weekend as Sherlock???

Didn't TDK have a trailer for Twilght attached to it? It seems logical.

If we're going with IMAX, I don't expect to see the trailer in that format until a week later with Tin Tin - think about it, Tin Tin's fanbase is VERY similar to Batman and that movie has been receiving a LOT of buzz.

Except that Tin Tin is animated. MI is a huge live-action thriller blockbuster, from the comics point of view Tin Tin makes sense but not necessarily from a filmgoer perspective. At least the way I see it.
