could the opening be the fall out from TDK
i think it would be good for the story if TDKR is months after TDK. Bruce Wayne can move on from Rachel. if TDKR is after TDK then it would be strange if starts a relationship with Catwoman.

plus from what i understand in the opening they introduce the batwing. so this would then mean that he had the batwing in TDK. and he wouldnt use it?

i think its some months after TDK.

The sheer number of police cars chasing Batman was mind blowing.
It's all the more awesome because the police know who they're dealing with. The jawdropping police presence gives a lot of respect to Batman.

slightly off topic but i put this in the vechile thread and think its worth considering here too. heres what i put:

look at the extras on dvd of some of the viral campaign with the gotham tonight episodes. Bruce was developing silent rota blades for the "military" at the time of the dark knight. cant remember which episode it is but watch them and you will see, possible teaser or perhaps they were going to do it in the dark knight but may have cost too much or ran out of time? Pehaps nolan wanted to do somthing like this before but for whatever reason couldnt so made sure he got it in the end. Im sure its written in somewhere in gotham knight too and they were the same producers.

Now the reason i put this in is because after re watching the gotham tonight episodes I noticed alot of bb references but most of all they were alot of integral plot points within this mini series that actually turn out to be points in the film.

for example:

Rossi in the courtroom was tied to a tree in some footage which was set just before dark knight.

The expo on the kids on new drugs was in the opening with the scarecrow about "repeat customers"

The last episode directly linked to the bank heist

etc etc etc so more info than we have picked up on perhaps?

I really hope the prologue features Batman being chased by the cops, or at least is Batman-centric.

As much as I love The Dark Knight, I think it was more of an ensemble piece, whereas Batman Begins was very much told from the perspective and point-of-view of Bruce Wayne/Batman. In Batman Begins, you know what Bruce Wayne is thinking almost during the entire movie, but The Dark Knight? Not so much. On top of that, almost the entire duration of Batman Begins is told from Bruce Wayne's perspective. Even during the Rachel/Crane/DA scene Bruce is there spying on Rachel. He's very much the emotional, psychological center of that movie, and I hope the same happens with The Dark Knight Rises.

I would even be content with a format similar to Inception. In that movie Cobb was very much the emotional epicenter of that movie. He was surrounded by an incredible ensemble cast, but Cobb's journey was the emotional through-line of that movie. I hope something similar happens with The Dark Knight Rises.

In any event, if I had to choose, I'd much rather see a prologue that focused on Batman rather than one focused on Bane or any other character, but that's just me.

Given on how this is Nolan's last film in the series; I'm confident that he won't disappoint when it comes to Bruce's presence and exposure on the film since this is all about concluding the journey that Bruce first started in BB.

And just from everything we know; Bruce is going to have to rise up as Batman through thick and thin in order to save Gotham and be accepted as its true hero.

Considering Bane isn't as well-known as the Joker and that they seemingly keep CW under wraps (a la Dent/2 Face in TDK), I'm pretty confident we'll get a Batman-centric preview.

Absolutely.

I wonder if the big ending to the 6 mins will be the Bat-Prawn flying towards the screen?
I can actually imagine that!

Then cut to "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES" with Batman's theme in background.

:awesome:

yeah I can see the cops thinking they have him corralled into a dead end alley and saying on the radio..."we've got him ,there's no way out of there" and then you hear the batwing fire up and rise up out of the alley and take off. cut to a shot of Gordon smiling.... fade to the logo....

The argument can be made that because Bane is relatively unknown to the general audience, the film's marketing will be intensely focused on Bane.

Why? That would serve the purpose of promoting Bane, not the film itself.

I haven't been in this section for a while,I read a few pages back that there's footage of cops chasing Batman!?..Is there a link?

There's no actual footage of the chase yet, but there are some set vids of it on YT. For the most part we are assuming that the prologue that's attach to MI:Ghost Protocol will be of the chase.

Same here. I think this movie will heavily deal with Bruce/Batman like in Begins since this is about ending his story. And that's why I think the chances of the Batman/GCPD prologue scene is very, very likely.

Yes! That's how I imagined it too! The last scene in the prologue will be the Batwing or maybe the sound of it and a very quick flash of it. And then it will cut to some quick flashes of different scenes (IIRC we got a few secs of teaser after the Joker prologue).

And then of course I will faint from the awesomeness right after the prologue!

The TDK prologue didn't promote the film as a whole either. Point?

Of course it did, via the Joker. When people hear about or see the Joker, they immediately think of Batman. Even if TDKR's Bane was faithful to the comics in terms of looks, most of the casual viewers would not be able to make the connection. If the prologue is to successfully connect the audience members to Batman, it has to be Batman himself or CW.

Why can't it be both bane and batman? I don't understand why it HAS to be one or the other.

Because these "prologues" usually center around an introduction to a character in the film, and it's much more likely that the introduction scene for Bane to the audience will not feature Batman and vice versa. That's just how the formula seems to work.

For it we know the prologue might be little Talia and daddy Ra's. :oldrazz:
