I'm guessing that's it. No offense to little Talia and Josh Pence but I don't wanna pay $20 for them.

Because these "prologues" usually center around an introduction to a character in the film, and it's much more likely that the introduction scene for Bane to the audience will not feature Batman and vice versa. That's just how the formula seems to work.

Your basing this on one prologue. Still doesn't mean it has to be one or the other.

A prologue is just a preface to a story.

Whatever it is, its crucial information to some part of the film that will not be explained in detail later on.

In my mind that bars out a Prison Break. One could simply say: "Bane broke out of Prison" and we'd know essentially what that means.

TDK's prologue was an introduction to several ideas.

#1 that the mob was still in control of things

#2 that Joker couldn't be trusted

#3 that Joker got a way with the money.

if it weren't in the film the scene where Gordon and Bats in the Bank would still make sense but with it the idea that Joker is tricky and probably up to something instantly shows us the fault in Batman's: "One man or the whole mob?" line.

With that in mind I think TDKR will be more about Batman's fighting for Gotham rather than Bane's taking over Gotham. While the latter is important the former is what the story is probably most about.

In TDK we were being shown how Joker could turn Gotham against itself so it's good to focus on his character in that way, I don't think anyone would say Batman was triumphant at the end of TDK.

So if TDKR is going to be about Batman rectifying or rising or whatever I would think the prologue would be about Batman as Bane's stuff could happen during the main story and still be just as meaty.

I think a Batman/GCPD chase scene will be a great transition from TDK to TDKR in the same way that the Joker robbery scene was a nice transition from BB to TDK.

BB ended with Batman and Gordon talking about the Joker and so TDK started with the Joker. TDK ended with Batman being hunted down by the GCPD and so it would be great to see TDKR start off where TDK ended. It doesn't have to be literally after TDK's events. It can be months after.

Ah but we wouldn't know how. Who was involved. What his prison life was like. Did they experiment on him? To me it would give him an introduction to the audience just the way that the Joker bank scene did. It could also establish the link to the LoS and the story coming full circle. Sorry but your dismissal of the potential of the prison break offhandedly like that sounds like you didn't think it through.

What would we learn from the cops chasing Bats that we didn't know at the end of TDK? Other than the introduction of the new vehicle? We already knew he was considered an outlaw. Unless that person getting hurt as a result of the chase ties into his deciding to retire I see the chase as just another chase. And we've had several of those already.

I'd personally be more interested in an awesome, electric bane prison break.. But like I said, I see no reason that a bane/batman prologue couldn't be intertwined... I don't think we should rule anything out at this point.

Totally a possibility. But the experimentation and Prison life may not mean much to the whole film. I don't know, you don't know.

If Prison life for Bane is some huge thing that explains why he's big or the mask or something then yes but, we don't know.

Except it's not about him being an outlaw it's about the reaction to it. How is Bruce seeing this? How is Gordon handling it? Who is JGL and what are his feelings towards Batman?

This all could set up the dynamics of these characters and relations to each other as well as the feel of Gotham itself pretty well and as an added Bonus the Batprawn introduced in the opening.

Both are possible but I've thought the opening would be a police chase for a long while now.

If it's a Bane scene, I think it will be that military plane wreckage scene we saw in Cardington. We don't even know for sure if Bane will be breaking out of prison himself. The only thing we know of is that he's going to break the Blackgate prisoners out. His backstory might've completely changed.

I have a feeling it will show Batman going into hiding, with some Bane involved.

Just got some breaking info the prologue is:

Anne Hathaway in Full Catwoman Gear performing her rap :oldrazz:

while i understand that its a joke .........whats more funny is that the final suit is when they filmed with Oldman,Bale and Hathway next to the batwing.

I really don't want to reignite this but, Gill did say that there was more to the costume and what we saw was akin to Batman's prototype suit. This is also the position of my source.

So...:awesome:

I think the chances of her having a cowl is the same as the chances of Batman having a new suit.

Maybe the last scene is a 5 minute scene of Batman and Catwoman talking in some rooftop and Batman has his new suit and Catwoman finally has a cowl.

That's true actually. All of her candid shots in costume is from that one chase scene.

And we still don't know that Nolan actually filmed at the hangers in England.

She was reported to be where they shot for GCPD as well.

I'm sure Hathaway is in it more than that Hemitt Chase, which would mean she shot the majority of things before pittsburgh.

so...I still think there's hope.

So would that also imply Batman could still be due a new (power armor?) suit for the final act? It seems we've basically seen nothing from the last act of the film if the chase is in the middle like you say, but of course it could mostly take place indoors or outside of the city.
