Well, people don't forget that their vigilante killed their great District Attorney...

Indeed. I think he'll be pretty much retired at the start of the film (leading to the hospital scene), He'd have to take a back seat after he sacrificed his inspirational side in TDK.

I'm more curious with when in the movie will Bruce/Batman be gone for a bit and what scenes fit before and after that.

im actually thinking that when batman/cops are gone for 3 months is the time that catwoman steps her game up.in batman's absence she becomes a hero of sorts and maybe responsible of getting batman back off his ass. Like being a ray of light for HIM. Like "all is not lost"....

or something like that

There seems to be so much cool stuff with Bane, Talia, LOS, Prison break out, batman being adsent, army vs. army, thats its actually hard to see where catwoman is needed lol

Indeed; hell I would have never thought at first a few years back that a Batman film could have such believable high stakes on the line. I mean after seeing the way previous films had executed their main threats (master plans of the previous villains), I had a hard time adjusting towards seeing such supposed big scale threats being what they were conceived to be.

Can't wait for Batman's preachy speech on the financial crisis.

BATMAN (Bale's raspy voice): Sometimes it not good enough to blame your own problems... your misfortunes... on those who are better off than you... the rich. Sometimes you have to take responsibility for yourself, and aspire to be great, like those in the 1%.

I just read this and had to reply. Please Nolan don't turn my childhood hero into a *****e.

It's too late anyway I think.. in begins batman took on cooperate greed in the form of Mr Earle. Big difference between the character of Wayne and your wall street crooks

Sorry. Had to get that off my chest.

meh, dont like that at all. I want Catwoman to be what catwoman should be. a thief first and foremost.
She doesnt have to be a fully fledged evil one, just a thorn in Batmans side rather than some Batgirl/Robin substitute that I see many here wants her to be.

I actually agree. I'm fine with her helping Batman out at some point but I want her to play with both sides of the law as well. That's what makes her interesting and what makes her relationship with Batman amazing. I love that Batman doesn't know if he can fully trust her.

i think we ALL want this, what you wrote above. with a dash o spontaneous heroism...

But nolan has his epic conclusion and from what we know and what i experienced its going to kick major ass, and be on a scale never before seen in a comic book film.

I don't see nor i can fathom catwoman being SUPER integral to the OVERALL plot, unless like i said its just used to rally batman back on his feet after being physically and emotionally defeated by the superior Bane.

Huh? Catwoman is almost always intergal to Batman stories. She test Batman's boundaries of acceptance. She will be a big part of bruce's story

I'm certain Catwoman will be a morally grey character. But at the stakes of this scene when Bane is trying to destroy the city I'm sure not even here would accept it. Of course she will help Batman here.

Catwoman has a good but morally grey heart

Catwoman is somewhat like Batman without the moral cage. She'll do good, she doesn't really WANT to be a villain and even the nature of her crimes are sometimes harmless to others.

When push comes to shove though, there's nothing she wouldn't do to help Batman, especially if he's in danger.

she'd kill for him, without thinking twice about it. That's the problem between them, she can be unpredictable and has a outlandish way about her at times.

But there's always the question of is she too free or is he too confined?

maybe after she saves the kid with the apple she starts 100% fighting for the good side. could be where she ralizes that Gotham also needs her.

I think maybe Selina Kyle will have somewhat of an opposite arc of that of Harvey Dent.

Well from what we heard Gotham becomes lost, the only way to get what you need is to be in the game with Bane or to steal.

And lo and behold that's her speciality. The apple thing is a classic Selina type thing.

she's doing the right thing but she does it mostly because beating up the bad guys is fun.

a lot of people have said this and I still disagree a bit.

This implies she'll start off a villain and ends a good guy.

Well I don't think either of those things is going to happen, I think the most we'll see from Selina is her being a grey character, not someone we dislike but someone we're not sure we can trust. She's enigmatic but also seems to have her own agenda.

Then as things get worse she puts herself on the line to help Batman in a fight bigger than anything she's ever seen. Now most think at the end she'll have turned over a new leaf but that isn't Catwoman's character.

She always ends in a somewhat grey area. She helps save the day, she gains the trust and then she does something and it totally throws everything she's done into a strange area and she results in being a grey character. Not someone Batman can trust totally and maybe someone he has to turn in for her actions.

Im hearing from a few birdies wondering if anyone else has heard this, that the prologue is in fact the Heinz field football scene!!

Some 100+ cops chasing batman through the streets of Gotham before being shaken off By Batman taking off in his newly created Batwing into the night sky, sounds pretty mind blowing to me.

Not that you're any more wrong to suggest the Heinz shoot.

She's never been a villain, at least not in the current canon, she's always been on both sides of the law, it will be awesome if this is the angle Nolan captures

damn i hope there is some bood drawn in fight between Bane and Batman.

Nolan films, super dark, no blood, whats the deal?
