You guys seem to have decided the opposite before seeing it too.

I even saw one dude say it would be better than TDK simply because Nolan wouldn't make it if it wasn't better than TDK.

Well it's Christopher Nolan, and he's yet to make a disappointing film. So he's earned the benefit of the doubt.

It's a matter of opinion really, and I fully trust Nolan.

Every filmmaker with integrity makes a new film with the intention of either elevating his craft or do something out of his comfort zone.

You seem to not understand.
He was saying that, because the movie was being made, the film would be better.

That's like saying that the new G.I Joe movie will be without a doubt better than the last simply because it's being made, too.

BB and TDK are why TDKRises doesn't need marketing...

Every film needs marketing. That is an absolute fact. Films with poor or no marketing tend to fail miserably.

It's a hell of a lot more fun to be cautiously optimistic about something than to already simmer down your expectations IMO. Of course if the hype for TDK has told me anything the excitement for a movie (esp on these boards) is half the experience.

But yeah out of trailer, teaser poster, stills, all the awesome set footage verifying tons of potential plotlines in the film. Plus the wonderfully recieved previous two film. If none of that can get you hyped for the film, you probably weren't ever going to be in the first place, and thats perfectly fine. :cwink:

false.

Half of the world will watch TDKRises just to see how Bale and Nolan finish out, and nothing more...

btw, all you have done is come in here to start crap over the last two days. If you don't like Nolan and have no faith in this film, go over to something else. You are the "1%" of this film...

I hate it when people say that BB and TDK are why someone should by hyped for TDKR. A film should be sold on it's own merits, not on those of other films.

That would make sense if a new director and/or crew and cast were attached, but is not the case here.

Fail miserably? TDKR? Huh. That shows how little you know about TDK's impact. TDK was smart enough to use viral marketing to promote itself. TDKR is having a normal marketing campaign, but it also has TDK, whether you want to admit it or not.

And, come to think of it, weren't you the guy that claimed that TAS had a legitimate chance of surpassing TDKR because its lead actor showed his love for the character by dressing up in a Spidey costume, going to the ComicCon and crying while confessing how Spiderman was his childhood? And that somehow that was a real factor that would affect the movie's success, since Bale hasn't done anything like that?

Must every film have elaborate viral campaigns to be considered well marketed now? The film is a good 8 months away, we are getting not only a prologue in december but a full on footage filled trailer. Add that with the potential super bowl spot in Feb, the endless TV spots, all the posters another trailer, all the interviews, the clips etc etc what else could you possibly want at this stage of production? The previous film is so well known that a simple tdk symbol could pop up and a major proportion of the average joe viewer will know exactly what it means. You can't say that about many films coming out next year.

Oh yeah... :lmao:

After two films, one that made a billion, you already have an established franchise with even higher expectations with the third. So it would be hard for anyone not to be hyped up TDKR. It's not likr this is a blank canvas or an original film; it's a Nolan Batman film.

I said 'A' factor, which some of you idiotically warped into me saying that it was the MAIN factor.

You want to make a bet right here and now that this movie will make a ton of money without any marketing?

This movie is riding off the steam of TDK's popularity and success. It even has The Dark Knight in it's title. It needs no major marketing to make big money. The fact that it's a sequel to TDK alone will attract the masses.

You can count on that.

I said 'A' factor, which some of you idiotically warped into me saying that it was the MAIN factor.

Read my post again. Never mentioned the word "main". I said you thought it was "A real factor". Idiotically, huh?

Oh...right...suddenly I seem to have him all figured out now. Nevermind Dragonator, go bout your business.

Which was also part of the reason I thought TAS would make a billion, since it has had THREE hugely successful films, whereas Nolan has only had one hugely successful Batman film.

My point is, they need to show something impressive for me to get hyped for this film. So far, everything I've seen from this film is just 'okay' I wan to see something AMAZING.

We haven't seen anything though. Cept a poorly put together teaser with little footage.

No excuse for that statement good sir, no matter how you slice.

It's like saying Schumacher is a better director for the Batman franchise simply because Joel collects Batman comics and Christopher does not.

Nothing against Andrew Garfeld but that was all planned out by Sony and Marc Webb. I'm sure Garfeld was up for the idea and genuine about it in his speech but it's not like he randomly did it on his own without telling anybody.

You all sure kept talking about it as if it were the main factor.

But then I mentioned Talia, and you all forgot the whole conversation almost instantly.

Seriously, go back and read the conversation. I mention the Talia/Tate thing, suddenly EVERYONE stops talking about the TAS thing.
