Ok...Batman is lured into the sewers by Bane's men, into a trap with Bane. Batman tires himself fighting Bane's goons and then Bane emerges, ready to dismantle the Bat at his weakest. :cwink:

........... *takes off glasses* Let me get this straight:

Bane has his henchmen go out and LURE a man who beats criminals to a pulp in a dark and uncertain place like a sewer.......... and Bane expects such an intelligent and tactical man to be uneventful enough to fall for this BIG SURPRISE trap and have a massive final confrontation...?

This makes plenty of sense to me.

- Batman went into retirement soon after the events of TDK.

- Bane arrives at Gotham, Batman comes out of retirement to face him, but he's been out of practice.

- Bane...aided by Miranda Tate's info...beats Batman badly, Wayne heals while in that prison thingamajig.

- Gordon tries to make a difference while Batman is away, but gets seriously injured as well.

- Justin Timberlake makes cameo appearance.

- Wayne heals in the gulag, then returns.

- He meets Selina Kyle, who secretly as Catwoman has been partaking in her own lawless spree.

- He becomes Batman one last time to face and defeat Bane with the help of Kyle.

Oops...that wasn't supposed to slip out......um....security...!!!

Timberlake is playing Jason Todd and is killed off within the first 5 minutes of his introduction.

2 things...I don't see Tate siding with Bane until later in the film and I still cannot see what purpose Bruce being in the prison serves Bane, unless Tate wants Bruce out of the picture (and Fox whom is killed) and somehow manages to gain control of Wayne Enterprises...THEN I can see her discovering the blueprints of the Tumblers and supplies Bane.

I am curious as to why Bane would keep Bruce in a prison at all? Why not kill him? Why let him live? Sort of the classic villain blunder isn't it? "I think I should allow the only individual with the ability to possibly defeat me to recuperate in a safe, secure area while I take on the immensely difficult task of taking over a major city complete with it's own police force and support from the government. Yeah, letting Batman live will pan out swell."

I can understand breaking Batman and wanting him to watch helplessly as Bane destroys Gotham...and I can see Bane feeling superior and arrogant enough to leave Bruce alive (notice the "when Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die" quote), but I think leaving him alive wherever it is he breaks him is more chilling and more of a head game because it's like he's telling Bruce, "I can kill you anytime I choose, you are no match for me, no threat...so sit and watch as I destroy your city KNOWING you cannot stop me"

I think that's the answer I've gotten to as well. I think Bane is going to be a personification of a pretty clear concept, just as the Joker was in TDK. He was chaos. I think Bane is going to be malice. When he wants to break the Bat, he wants to reduce him to his smallest, weakest possible form of being. I think that will have a lot to do with what the film is ultimately about.

Part of me is still thinking ALL of this is just 1 big head fake by Nolan and the actual movie features Egg Head as the main villain...and Robin is introduced halfway through.

With supporting cast Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum. :awesome:

I think Bane wants him alive...as the states in the trailer...to witness the full despair of Gotham, etc.

it's clear Bane won't break Batman's back... doesn't make any sense since it would take years to recover from that... probably just breaks his 40 year old legs. I hope he takes Batman's cane and breaks it over his head into two sticks and stabs Batman a few times with it before Savaging and emasculating Batman and make him not a true man anymore...

Well you guys should already know the deal when he pops up every blue moon with his comments. lol

I love that gif with that scowl. Bale has never looked more like the living embodiment of Batman.

Also, in my opinion, the sewers is the perfect place to set a trap for Batman especially if he is forced to go there in a emergency. They are cramped and confusing with minimal entrances and exits. The underground setting makes it impossible for Batman to glide or grapple away.
