Does anyone else believe the rumor that the end of The Dark Knight Rises will play out like the end of The Dark Knight Returns comic? That Batman goes down in an epic battle against Bane in which he defeats him but then is believed to be dead from the battle? Then at his funeral Batman awakes in his coffin and his voice over explains that he took a drug to fake his death and inspire Gotham through his sacrifice to rise up? But he is still alive and no ones knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman because Bruce is still fine. He gets to quit but Batman does leave a lasting effect on the city. I hope that is true. It would be an awesme end to the trilogy in which Batman "dies" but isn't really dead.

I don't know, sounds like a stretch to have him fake his own death. Bruce could just quit being Batman after he gains back Gotham's trust.

I said that months ago when Nolan was reported saying that TDKR will the end of his Batman story. I don't think it will play out exactly like it was in The Dark Knight Returns - with the funeral, coffin, drug and all but I do think there is a very good possibility that Batman might indeed orchestrate his own 'death' at the end of TDKR.

I think it's a great idea but the fact that it's speculation that started on this board makes me sure it won't happen. When has out guesses ever been right about what plot Nolan has in mind?

something like that.

So they have a casting call again for :thugs prisoners and so on.......

Those prisoners and thugs will be in all the corners of the streets in gotham i think...
to scare people.

Bane doesnt mind that i think until the point Batman comes back.

There was suppose to be a plane landing on a strip of highway. I don't know if that ever happened though, or if its ever going to happen.
