I'm gonna just do a Begins and TDK marathon at my house before the midnight. If my theater does do the marathon I will be there in an instant. But I have a feeling it won't.

99th threads but a ____ aint one.

That's why you should do what I'm planning. Go to the marathon and leave as soon as TDK is over, then go to a different showing for TDKR on another day. You can be out of the theater by around 11:30 and get a decent night of sleep for work on Friday. Getting to see BB and TDK on the big screen again is a treat. You rarely get to see old movies at the movie theater anymore.

I would but I can't get out of the office before the marathon starts. :csad:

However, I think my plan is a great second place. Go home take a nap, then see TDKR in Imax at midnight with all my friends, third row from the back, dead centre.

You mean the three-part STAS episode?
I do. Before BB, I felt it was the best onscreen representation of Batman, animated or live-action.

3:20am Universal City Walk IMAX represent!! There were some other imax theaters still selling tickets for midnight showing around socal but i didnt want to risk a theater ive never been to and no assigned seating means waiting in line for hours... no thanks. who else is doing a wee hour in the morning screening?

Don't let work drag you down. You just gotta keep livin' man. L-I-V-I-N. :cwink:

AMC is ****ing up.

How could they have this 12pm June 11th ticket sale date, and not have their IMAX ticketing information in order? I ended up buying a midnight regular definition ticket just as insurance in case the IMAX falls through. :o

Yeah I'm going to do my own little Dark Knight trilogy thing at home. Just watch BB 2 nights before and TDK the night before, I couldn't do all 3 in one night, I'd just get too burned out by the time TDKR comes on.

Also, what is the difference between IMAX and LieMAX, apart from Liemax being digital (I think)?

You're crazy! :oldrazz:

;)

I liked the animation style and characterization better on the later TAS's, and the combination of Supes and Bats highlighted some of their best (and most enjoyable) attributes. World's Finest just felt like a better piece of work altogether.

Resolution and size. Real IMAX footage is jawdropping to see on a giant IMAX screen running through a 15/70 IMAX film projector. You know the experience of watching a DVD on a 20 inch TV and then popping in a Blu-ray and watching it on a 60 inch screen? Same difference between a regular theater (which is pretty much LieMAX) and real IMAX.

As you can see, digital is also cropped. Real IMAX is about 1billion times better clarity.

So are we talking about the difference between true IMAX and just a large digital projection? There are places that call themselves 'IMAX' but just project onto a larger than 'normal' screen, right?

Daaaamn, son. I saw the prologue in IMAX, so I get a sense of the size in comparison; if anything, that ruined me for watching films normally.

I think we might need to distinguish between the LIEMAX, the smaller size Digital IMAX, and the Real IMAX screens.

There really are three different versions of it.

What do you mean smaller size digital IMAX? It's still the same problem as a converted LieMAX screen. Can't run IMAX 15 perf, 70mm footage and isn't the same size as a real IMAX screen.
