Huh?

If someone bought tickets solely for the midnight screening they'll be expecting to see only that film. I don't get how someone who bought just the midnight ticket would be huddled in with the people that are paying $40 dollars for the IMAX trilogy screening.

The $25 trilogy regular screening guys are ok but it's the IMAX crowd that's going to be a mess. I still have no idea how they're going to make it work.

Well for example fandango doesn't have the Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX Experience listed for Empire 25 until friday, and they have the trilogy imax listed for the midnight. I don't know.

If they did sell them, then They can take the tickets that they sold for the midnight they were gonna do for TDKR and just incorporate them into the trilogy show, and then they can sell whatever tickets they have remaining to the rest of the public. Then if there is overflow they'll just have those people go into the regular digital theater. I've seen that done before when either last minute changes are done, or projectors go out of whack.

I guess it's going to vary from theater to theater.

The one in San Francisco has the trilogy in ETX (regular theaters) and no IMAX trilogy screening. A solely regular midnight screening and the IMAX midnight screening along with 3:45 a.m IMAX showing.

I think this whole trilogy viewing is stupid. I'd much rather there be additional showtimes for TDKR then the same 2 movies we've seen 100s of times. Sure, do a trilogy viewing eventually...but not freaking opening day.

I can just see some stupid theaters selling TDKR tickets for the trilogy viewing and people getting completely screwed trying to get a seat.

I can see some nightmare scenarios happening with this definitely. I'm just glad it's not 3D. When we had the avengers marathon we marketed the special character specific glasses, but the studio only sent us one box, so the guests went insane when we ran out, and were accusing us of stealing them, (which was funny to all of us because we know that those glasses don't work at home, and they weren't really pretty enough!) . It was pretty stressful. Though I heard about posters that are supposed to be given out, so we may not be out the woods yet.

You guys need to line some of the glasses' insides with black makeup.

I have to tell you, I spent a good 5 mins staring at the ticket kiosk when I was buying my ticket yesterday. Just thinking, do I, or dont I want to watch this as a marathon? So so tempting... yet, I fear that even my love for all things Nolan has its limits.

I opted just for TDKR in IMAX, and even then I couldn't pick a time. I was gna do what CraigDBfan did and get a early 10am showing on the 20th. But I just didn't want to take the chance that by then masses of people would have been talking about and the major spoilers would be all over the world. LOL

I finally settled on a July 19th 4:00 am showing! So guess who's going straight to work Friday morning having just seen The Dark Knight Rises? :awesome:

If the UK finally confirm they are doing one (which looking at their twitter they look to be doing) they will likely do it as -
Batman Begins: A few showings on Wednesday (possibly IMAX)
The Dark Knight: A few Imax showing on Thursday
The Dark Knight Rises: Runs normal from there.

hey quick question, i have booked the front row seats for midnight at melbourne imax because they were the only ones left. do you have to crane your neck real bad? because melbourne's is the 3rd biggest in the world.

Ive never been to Melbourne let alone Australia, but Im pretty sure that since its the third biggest in the world you will most definitely be leaving the theater with a neck cramp.

Ah oh well, as long as i am able to see the epic story unfolding 6 stories above me :pal:

Anyone know how many TV spots are generally to be expected? We already have 7 to my knowledge. Should we expect 3 more, 5, 10? Anyone have an idea?

I went to see Transformers 3 in the second smallest "LIEMAX" in the UK which is nothing compared to normal proper IMAX projection in the fourth row back. Safe to say my neck hurt for a good while after. So... uhh good luck :cwink: :woot:
