I've bought IMAX for the 20th at 1pm in Manchester. Will have to get an hours train there then walk to the Odeon, so I didn't think I could face the 9:30am showing.

You have to see it! If there is one film that you must see in IMAX(real 70MM IMAX) and lose your IMAX virginity, it has to be TDKR. The scope of the prologue was awe-inspiring. It's gonna be an insane experience.

haha I will! no matter what, even if it's for my second time viewing, I will watch The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX. :o I'm afraid I'll cry in the theatre once it ends though. :(

I'll never watch it in anything other than IMAX...until the Blu-ray that is ;)

I've never seen anything in IMAX yet either, I think I'll see it on a normal screen too to compare, but I'm excited. Especially now I know we have a 'proper' IMAX.

yup, I'll probably be seeing it in IMAX and on the normal screen too.

just to share, I unknowingly read the full plot of The Dark Knight the day before I watched it, and when I finished reading it, I didn't really buy it because it sounded too complex to me for Batman. I only realized that I had read the full plot a day after watching it, and I was amazed that while watching the film, I was so engrossed by it that the thought didn't even register that I already knew the plot, and was still shocked by the twists!

I blow my hat off to you sir.

Thanks, although I suspect my 500 Euros I'll spend for the entire trip would better serve me in the future, with a bankrupt Greece. But hey, linving the moment and s**t, right?

Woahhh are there samples of the TDKR sountrack?

I love you.

I just wanted to say thank you to kvz5 for telling me about the soundtrack samples. I love them :hrt:

Yeah I just had my first IMAX experience the other week and now I can't see going to a normal theater ever being the same again. No way I'm missing this in IMAX.

Just listened to the samples, overall sounds really good "WHy Do We Fall?" in particular. However, I'm slightly annoyed that it just seems to have the majority of BB/TDK cues in the samples and nothing really new to go on.

There's plenty of new stuff, but reprisals are to be expected.

I think I've lost my damn mind, i just spent 30 odd quid on IMAX tickets to BB and TDK showings before the TDKR showing on the morning of july the 20th :funny: I'm going to be absolutely knackered before i even watch the damn thing. :funny:

30 sec samples are hardly enough to complain about no new cues.

TBH I was expecting to come on here and have people say it's the best thing ever from those 30 second samples. When really it's just kinda samey from the bits we've heard. But am I also right in thinking the Deshi Basara chant doesn't appear anywhere in the samples? So there's plenty we're not hearing

It's not that to me its more just that this is the chance to advertise the track or almost give a sense of the scene and they fill some of the samples with cues we've already heard not that I don't love the cues we already have.

What sells me entirely on the score is the "death song" from BB and TDK making it's way in the end track. Apart from it's obvious connotations, it signifies the themes for this film perfectly, the end, the death of the series and the death of the way things used to be, like winter (the visual theme from the film) it signifies an end only for spring/dawn to rise and start a new beginning. The same theme was used in the death of the waynes, the death of bruce wayne and the birth of batman, the death of rachel and the start of batman's fall and maybe with this new film the death of batman and the re-birth of bruce wayne.

So yeah, Hans using a lot of cues from the first two films are what makes it for me, considering i have no doubt we'll have a lot of new stuff to chew over (it certainly seems so with a lot of the tracks we've heard snippets of)

What did you see? Judging by the timeframe you saw it in, I'm guessing it didn't have any real IMAX shot footage in it..even tho it would have been huge anyway because the normal footage is blown up..when the real stuff plays for Rises..you'll be blown away. It jumps up further in height and the picture becomes about twice as clear.

Sadly, that's the bad thing about IMAX..ruins all other screens lol.

sounds exciting! can't wait to lose my IMAX virginity to TDKR.

Mind If I Cut In is my favorite so far. Has to be Catwoman's theme.

I also like Why Do We Fall, Imagine The Fire and Rise.
