The Thor: Ragnarok Rotten Tomatoes/Critic's Reaction Thread - Part 1

I knew you knew :P

Was the uploader's username just a funny coincidence? Or did your choice have something to do with his fitting name? lol

Oh wow! That's pretty funny didn't even notice that. Good catch, but just a coincidence.

What is going on with some of these reviewers today. Don't they know they are upsetting me with their negativity. I mean it's like my Mom always used to say. If you don't have anything nice to say, it is better to not say anything at all. I think these reviewers could learn a valuable lesson from my Mom. Lol

RT scores for MCU movies that are released OS first usually drop a bit once they hit the US release date. US critics just seem to be a little bit harder to please for some reason.

Well I live in the US. but these reviewers just need to get the stick out of their .... and just enjoy the movie. Well you get the point.

Yeah, but not every movie is going to appeal to every person. That's asking a lot. Early reviews that loved the film have said how divisive this movie would be, so it's a feat that the reviewers are as good as they are.

Of the 12 negatives, I believe 3 or 4 are from top critics. Most of the negatives are from people/sites I've never even heard of before.

Oh, I know I am just in a good mood and playing around, because it is finally in the US. and I am hoping I might see it tomorrow morning, but if not probably Sunday. So, it is close and I am excited.

I think this will end around 92%. Very good score, and very good year for Superhero movies at the theater this year!

Been an amazing year yeah.

Us lousy Americans always have to ruin the fun.

I thought both guardians 2 and Spider-Man homecoming were extremely average.

What is it at now?

Its funny - obviously everyone has their own personal taste and opinion and everything, but when you see that 202 critics like the movie, that most fans on here are gushing about it, and that most movie-goers [obviously] like the movie, you kind of look at the people giving rotten reviews and think 'wow, where are you coming from on this - did you genuinely not like the movie because your taste and opinion differs so greatly from that of the majority or are you just being contrarian?'

Ugh, and we were THIS close to making history with a 95% superhero movie. And it's not even a guarantee it'll stay at 94%. Assuming a minimum 2 additional rottens, it'll take at least 29 fresh scores to stay at 94%. Tall order, given the current trend.

I think it comes down to the fact that some people just don't like to have fun (or refuse to stoop to the level of enjoying a well made comic book comedy). Also I almost have a feeling that some critics refuse to allow a comic book movie to be reviewed as one of the best movies of the year, no matter how good it is.

I expected a drop when the US critics started to come out in larger numbers. It's still a very well reviewed film.

And in the end my opinion is really the same as it always is around RT, it doesn't matter at all when it comes to my opinion of the film. Same with BO. It's just been fun to follow this anyway because of the great people in the Thor forum!

Double Toasted put out their review, but I haven't gotten to watch it all yet.
